Hello Everyone! Good news! Laila said yes to Fred at the wedding so that was a big relief. It tasted good, but it was dark beer, coke, brandy, and cherry liquor all mixed together...just don't ask what is in it until after you taste, kind of like those concoction you tried in college.

There was a peaceful student demonstration in Prague to end communism, but riot Police went bezerker and ended up hurting many of the students so they now have a plaque.

Jan Palach was the first, the Jan Zajic followed close behind. Both decided to light themselves on fire protesting the occupation of Czechoslovakia by Warsaw Pact forces.

A busy happenin' street where the Jans memorial is, but not much for the budget traveler in terms of shopping.

The cemetery was used for close to 350 years and holds the remains of about 100,000 jews in a very small space (2.4 acres) and some graves are 12 deep. During Nazi rule most jewish cemeteries were destroyed, but Hitler had plans of making a "Museum of the Extinct Race" so this one was preserved.

Statues line the bridge on both sides, 30 in total, and most of them are not original, but very well done replicas.
