My wife and I flew into Venice with our boxed bicycles, got on the bus to the train station and boarded the train to Trieste. Aboard the train, I reassembled our bikes. We rode from the Trieste train station to The Piazza Unita in downtown Trieste. The Piazza Unita is one of the squares in Europe. We met some cyclists from Switzerland who directed us to the Hotel Centro, a one star hotel costing 50 Euros, which was clean with modern water closet and shower (down the hall) and included a hearty breakfasr the next morning.
