Number of pax: 22 (20 girls under 23 ... It was quite the spectacle!)
Lilo count; (are we still doing this, seeing as they all blow away?) I don't think we had any left, but some pax bought lilos along the way so we had 2 onboard by the end.
Check-in; all good.
Day 1; Omis
Number of pax for dinner; 22 (bbq onboard)
Day 4 of my non-drinking stint and I was feeling great, but it clearly couldn't go on any longer, so I got back into the swing of things with some cocktails on the boat with the girls. As the whispers spread around the Omis docks of 20 hot girls alone on a boat, we had many male visitors venturing over that night to see for themselves. Good night had by all.
Day 2; Makarska
Number of pax for dinner; 22 (Peskera)
We all climbed to the fort in Omis this morning, and it was really hot but really nice. I chatted with the young guy who works up there and he said he'd been out partying in Split until 5 that morning, then had to climb up the mountain at 7am... He was
quitting the job as soon as his shift ended that evening! Also, I had to bring Simon's group up too, after basically having to physically restrain him from climbing up himself. God love little Simon... Even with a leg that might need to be amputated it's so swollen and injured, if you put a pirate fort in front of him he's going to try to climb it!
That night in Makarska I was unsuccessful in my quest for a new dress at the markets, but I did buy some new sunglasses and a delicious sausage roll, so all was not lost. We had great dinner at Peskera, then a few cocktails at Marineta (I agree with Simon that the staff is pretty unreliable, but it's the best bar option en route to Deep Club).
We all had fun dancing at Deep, but ... (Simon, stop reading now) ... THE MUSIC IS TERRIBLE!! It's mindless electronic crap and impossible to dance to! All my girls wanted was to shake their booties to a bit of Beyonce or Pussycat Dolls... Is that so much to ask?! ("dj'ing Simon" does not share my point of view, but trust me, that bar
needs new tunes).
Day 3; Bol
Number of pax for dinner;
5 for wine tasting (and dinner at the winery)
22 for outdoor cinema!
Ohhhhh what a great day this was!! We had the most amazing swim stop in the history of Croatia Sailing ... It was in a little bay with about a million sea urchins all around that we could snorkel right up to and look at up close ... incredible! Everyone swam for almost the entire 2 hours we were stopped there, and then the day got even better when we had our next swim stop at Zlatni Rat. We decided to abandon ship there and walk into town, so we wrapped our sarongs around our heads and jumped overboard. We walked barefoot into Bol where we met up with the boat again, got some clothes and money, then went for giant banana splits before dinner. Some people ate at Topolino; I accompanied my two older couples to the wine tasting (which is officially my 2nd best highlight of the week, after Hvar of course). I suggested we have dinner there, and we all had the most delicious mussels with feta. Vinko was great; because
there were only 5 of us, I had intended to pay for my wine and meal, but he gave me the whole thing for free.
After the winery the whole group reconvened and we went to see a movie at the big outdoor cinema. Such a cool place ... Nice screen, cheap ticket (only 25 kunas), and although the movie was horrendous ("Hangover"), it was really fun to do something different.
Day 4; Hvar
Number of pax for dinner; 22 (picnic)
Best day of the tour. Our captain let us have another swim stop at Zlatni Rat (because it had been a little too wavy to fully appreciate the day before). One of the guys on the tour was really into yoga, so I asked him to teach a yoga class on the beach for us. So we jumped ship again, sarongs on head, and had an hour-long yoga class right on the beach! It was awesome, and probably even more awesome for the creepy old guy who snapped a bunch of photos of all the girls in downward-dog position.
Next stop: Hvar. Does anyone really need/want to hear again about how much I love Hvar, and
how much I love the beach bar, and how excellent the nightlife is every week, and how particularly sexy Sasa looked this week, especially when he called me over to stand behind the bar and hang out while he was working (because I'm sure that deep down he loves me too)? Didn't think so...!
Day 5; Korcula
Number of pax for dinner; 22 (Caenazzo)
Poor Korcula ... Everyone is always too wrecked from Hvar to really appreciate it. We all had nice naps together on deck as we sailed into town, and then had nice pizzas and Massimo cocktails, but by the time we arrived at Dos Locos, most people had gone home. 4 girls were able to pull themselves together long enough to participate in the beer-drinking contest that our very own Simon was hosting, but they were put to shame by the crazy Sail Croatians (who clearly had not just come from a massive night in Hvar).
Day 6; Mljet/Sipan
Number of pax for dinner; 22 (Captain's Dinner)
We stopped in Mljet for the afternoon, and a few people rented kayaks and canoes to head out to the monastery, whilst the others lounged around in the lakes. Everyone really loved it.
Sipan might not have been the best choice for this group, in hindsight. The bar doesn't start going off until late, and by then the girls were all wrapped in their blankets with cups of tea. I think they might've been a little too young to fully appreciate the beautiful serenity of Sipan, and when there wssn't something obviously fun to do, they were happy to just go to sleep. But, actually, I think most of them really appreciated being able to rest on this trip; most had just come from Greece where they partied hard, and they told me they loved not feeling that they needed to party every night in Croatia.
Day 7; Dubrovnik
Number of pax for dinner; 22 (delicious Aquarius)
The wall walk was absolutely swelteringly hot and by the end of it we 'd all lost about 5 kilos each from sweating. We raced to the Buza bar for a swim in the sea, had the most delicious beers ever, and then had free time until dinner. Aquarius was great, as always, and then we all went to Mirage where we broke the record for number of straws stuck together in a big line. My favourite waiters were in fine form that night too. We checked out the Fresh party that John put on, then some people went to Fuego. Being a group of young girls, they were all really freaked out about Brit Lapthorne, but I think they left with good feelings about Dubrovnik (as they should).
Another good week down ... Now would someone PLEASE put some cute boys on my Boat for a change?! 😊
