im sailin!
on my b-day boat renatalhey guys,
made it to split croatia finally! it was a hellish 17 hour travel switching trains 3 times...one was an over night train which looked like it was there to transport chickens with no a-c and 6 beds to a tiny room. we kept asking what train car was ours and they kept sending us back and back and back until we came to the good old caboose with old yugoslavian men hanging out the open windows smoking cigarettes and probably talking about how they;re going to steal out organs once we fall asleep! it was the worst thing ever! pj didnt even lay down the rooms with the beds were so bad and small. so i managed to click off 2 hours of sleep that train ride and i think pj got 20 minutes or so..then the next train we got the smoking section somehow and old aunt mayberry wouldnt stop hitting the damn grits! then a-c went out half way there ugggg so it was a good clean 90F. but the 1st 2 1-2 hour train ride was nice 1st class and all!! ha..man we keep getting screwed damn language barriers.

view from our seaside table of havr habor 5 nights in croatia; 3 in split and 2 on the island of hvar one hour by ferry from split. we havn't been up to much just relaxing in the pebbly beaches of croatia. we have been enjoying the water its like a deep turquoise color and then lighter swimming pool color in the shallows. some of the highlights of the last 5 days were on my b-day last thursday we rented a boat in hvar so we could do some much anticipated island hopping! its was a 5hp 12' shitbox but it ran like a dream and got us around pretty good. it looked super small compared to the huge yachts that flood the local islands and ports of these rich islands. one of my knowledgable canadian friends informed me that croatia is the leading place for nude beaches! we definately found that out on our island trip (thanks sam!) i dont think we could find a beach without topless girls if we tried. i wanted to go hike this one island it looked pretty cool with nice lush vegetation and cool rock formations...and yes we found the gay beach! naked dudes everywhere; pj was so happy!! haha jk...but

pj and his new finnish friends the hike was nice, minus the penis and i found a secluded beach we took the boat around to as well.
at first we couldnt book any hostels or hotels on the islands due to the high tourist season..so we werent going to go. after talking to some people we decided to roll the dice and just go without accomidations. when we got there there were people offering you aptartments and we got lucky and reserved one with this old lady. after about 8 minutes of her smoking us up the hill we come to our apartment. she failed to inform us there was only one bed!!! ha damn her...so we sweated it out together with out a/c again and it had to be about 118F or so in there!! the nextdoor neighbor felt so bad she gave us a fan the follwing morning which was very nice. but we did have our own private room and bathroom which was nice. other than that our days were serioulsy spent laying under the sun relaxing and cooling off in the water. the coastline is beautiful here and everybody is so tan. pj and i are turning black thats how many rays

along the strip we;ve soaked up! so right now we;re in split awaiting our bus to budapest.. sad to be leaving the slow island ways to go to the city 😞

Good to get your blog update, we've all been waiting to hear what's been going on and where you are. Loved the pictures again...keep them coming! So glad you were able to enjoy the island and water after that awful train experience! BELATED HAPPY B-DAY ALAN!! Looks like it was a GREAT one! It was so good to hear your voice PJ.
