At the foot of Mt. Srd. Today was one filled with fitness tests from the beginning. The group of 10 left Dad, Carrie, Dayla and Kathy behind and started the trek up Mt. Srd. From our apartment door, it was 3.14 miles to the door of the observation center on top of the mountain. The kids got a workout running for a good part of the way and Ayden (yes....AYDEN!!) earned the name INSANE BOLT for all of the running he was doing. I think he wanted to prove all the doubters wrong that he was not going to make the journey. After passing the stations of the cross at each switchback, we finally made it 1:27:10 later.
Due to our breakfast reservations at 10, we "reluctantly" took the cable car back down the mountain. After eating breakfast, it was time to hit the kayaks for a 2 hour journey along Dubrovnik's shoreline. After stopping in a really nice little swimming cove, only accessible by water, and a stop for a swim at Sveti Jakov beach, we made the non-stop trip back to our departure point.

Beginning the climb. some swimming and rock jumping. Shockingly, Ayden led the way with the first jump from the 20' mark. What a career day for Ayden! We joked that Mike spent so much time at the top, he had to have been taking tickets from the jumpers. Finally, he mustered up the courage to take the leap.
From that point on, we got cleaned up, went to eat pizza at Mea Culpa and then back down to the Stradun for a little more people watching with dad. A few went back downtown, but most of us are shot. Meeting Tom's friend Carol and our friend Marija at breakfast.
From there.....Banje and then the WALLS. Making our way towards the last day in the "PEARL OF THE ADRIATIC"!!!!
