So lucky! In 2017 we stayed for just one night in a remarkable campsite called Camp Ciste. I had marked a camp on our atlas and I was sure this was the one we needed but internet research told us it was closed, no longer a campsite. Disconsolate, Graeme started perusing old photos and thanks to the wonders of Google photos locator the camp was definitely Camp Ciste and it, in fact, was definitely still operating. We drove up the coast from Kotor, passing the madness which is Dubrovnik, where, as it happens we saw that huge cruise ship dwarfing the harbour. I had heard that cruise ships were being restricted but this high rise had somehow avoided this. The Croatia coastline fell spectacularly away from the road and oohing and aahing we were pleased to ... read more

Sitting here in Gabby we do what motorhomers do. We change our mind about what to do next. The weather is not brilliant by any means. When it rains it pours and the sound of rain drowns out our voices . It is too loud to hear ourselves think. It is too wet to even think about going out. The thunder is thundering above us and the lightening is lighting the sky up. The storms are more violent than back home . It is impressive to see nature at its most rough. We had planned ... read more

The clouds remained most of the day and was a blessing for our 6 hours hike thru the park as well as aiding in the drama of photography. We had been warned that lines for tickets were know to be very long and so we were at the ticket office at opening (am). Probably the 3rd in line and we had long solitary periods during our hike. It was beautiful and comfortable to explore this UNESCO World Heritage site that is made up of 16 lakes and we were able to move around by following footpaths and footbridges. Of course as all of these lakes empty into numerous dramatic waterfalls, ... read more

After a disturbed night of sleep we decided to move on. Paying our bill was interesting. The queue was long and it took a while to get to the front of it. Eventually though the files were taken out, the plastic wallets removed. The paperwork taken out of the files and we came to the paying up bit. 145.50 kuna for one night stay. Once paid we could be on our way on what should have been a hop, skip and a jump for Suzy. What we hadn’t bargained for were the butt clenching roads we would encounter which would take us through the mountains. As the rain fell the roads became greasier and Suzy slithered and slided all over them trying to get traction. Her grip was compromised in the wet weather on the hilly ... read more
