There is beauty everywhere you look here. The boardwalks lead the walker right beside the falls and cascades. I thought it interesting that cascade in Croatian is "kaskade." We walked about seven to eight hours each day we were in Plitvice, totally wearing ourselves out, but enjoying every minute of the day. I wish I had brought my pedometer along so I could make a fair estimate of how far we walked each day. My feet said eight to ten miles and that may be a fair estimate.

See how clear the water is in the river. Yes, the dark spot in the rock is a cave. Actually there is a cave at water level also. We saw a sunken row boat at its entrance.
