On Saturday, we went downtown using the bus system. It was the annual Nuit Blanche. We got off at De Brouckere and walked around through the alleys, malls, and other places. It was alot of fun and we ate at a chinese restaurant for dinner. The ice cream and spring rolls were very good. We saw the display at the plaza, where they had people dancing on a stage. They also had the Dexia Tower all lit up with the computer lights that changed colors to the music. We really liked that.

There was so much seafood and it was fresh. They had italian restaurants, a McDonald's, and plenty of shopping. There were many H&Ms and other stores Monica wants to come back to. They had people playing guitar in the streets. They say, though, to stay where the people are and try not to be obviously American. There was a tour group going through. We also noticed there are plenty of bars here, though we haven't found the nightclubs yet even though the lady told us to be wary of nightclubs due to date rape drugs.

I want to go to Karaoke. We saw a place tonight in the food court near the Kinepolis cinema. We went to the movies to see Die Hard 4. It was good. We also saw the atomium and mini Europe which was neat. We ate our first 3 Euro meal at the Quick (a fast food burger joint). Did anyone tell you that Belgians invented French Fries? They have good fries here. They also have kettle corn at the cinema. Anyway, we had fun and we didn't get lost much or killed. I will say though, it's easy to get confused on directions in the city and watch for dark, empty alleyways. We didn't find the Grand Place though we did see the old cathedral. I want to see the lions at Waterloo too. Better luck next time. 😊
