One of the most fascinating sculptors of the Enlightenment. He enjoyed great success working in Vienna for the imperial family under Maria Theresa and was one of the first artists of his time to break with the traditional formula for grand Baroque portraits in favour of Neoclassicism. The palaces of Belvedere are gorgeous. I could stand just look at the palaces and garden all day, well maybe not in 30 degree weather. The art work is stunning and I’m trying to figure out the statue that is plucking nose hair and showing off their anus??? We’re you supposed to “pluck” there as well? Love the photo of you Dee at the apartment, just beautiful! Stay warm.
