Ice Hockey Mascot
David, Adam and Blake Our last day in Prague was spent doing school work - boring but educational says Mason. Finally after our diaries were up to date we ran down the hill to the train station, late again , to catch the 4 o'clock train into prague for our last adventures on the martin tours.
We got to go back to our favourite restaurant for dinner. Mum said that I had to try something different from ribs because I'm becoming obsessed with them. So this time all the brothers and I had trout. It fitted on my plate so it would have been illegal in NZ. The big surprise of the night was that mum ordered, ate and paid for duck. We had jelly cake for Davids birthday. It was nice but we were all very full and it was hard to fit it in.
We caught the metro to the O2 arena for our Ice Hockey game. Andy said it was 400m from the tube station. For the first time he was acurate - usually an Andy 400m is about 1400m. Dad, Mum and Blake didn't sit straight away with us because they bought Blake an Ice Hockey T-shirt. We were
the red house
Don't ring the bell during the week. all sitting in our seats looking around when suddenly a drunk man strumbled down the stairs pushing Mum and Blake out of his way as he crashed to the ground. Unfortunately the drunk man turned out to be our Father - who wasn't drunk at all but tripped over his own feet (with his new shoes on) while watching Ice Hockey holigans from Sweden. Dad couldn't get any ice for his shin because it can become a dangerous weapon when thrown from great heights at a player with the most protection worn in any game in the world. Even our bottles of water that we bought there had their lids taken off so we couldn't throw them. Dad reckons there was more security there than any of the airports that we've been through.
The Ice Hockey game was awesome. Wickedly awesome. They move so fast and we couldn't even follow the puk sometimes. Blake wanted to see fights - there were two but he was in the toilet at the time. So he missed them. Slovia won - 4 2. Blake now wants to be a Ice Hockey Player.
On Thursday we left the Martins because they were
Freezing cold
Mum said the beer was good - we didn't agree cos it was so cold in the cellars. flying back to NZ. They gave us a map and our challenge was to find a red house in the middle of a lake. We did it with ease. Mum got really grumpy with us when we found it because we kept ringing the door bell of the house which had a sign on it saying it wasn't open during the week. A man came out and Dad said hi - then he shut the door. Mum really growled.
The lake and the house were really nice. We saw two fish in the lake and a dog followed us around.
Then we drove to Ceske Budjovice. Dad wanted to go to the beer factory there. We wanted to go ice skating. Dad got his trip but we didn't. Mum said we'd try again in another place. The motorcycle museum was interesting the whole family enjoyed it. We saw motorbikes from ww2 and even one that could fit us all in.
From Ceske Budjovice we went to Ceske Krumlov. The first thing we noticed was that there was streams of tourist walking through the gates into the village. Not a good sign if you want a quiet place.
Lunch
Ceske Krumlov - yum But I reckon if other tourists see us they might not be impressed either. All the tourists are alot older than us and alot quieter than us. But Ceske Krumlov was beautiful. We saw cobbled stone streets, a castle towering above us, rivers running through it and little streets with cool shops. We even got to see a kayaking race which was great - people sunk their boat coming through the weir. Mum and Dad took us out for lunch the place was called U Dwau Maryi. Our drinks were served in pottery goblets and the plates were even pottery. Dad and I had a feast for two and there was no problems in translation, the food was great. We had millet and it was weird but yummy. Sort of like a pancake.
We are now in Vienna and it is Sunday night. We had three loads of washing to do this morning and this afternoon we went into town. We went to a coffee house and had hot chocolates and chocolate cake. It tasted like Mums. But mum doesn't charge $70. Dad said don't worry about it it was an experience. The atmosphere in the cafe was great because it was dark, people playing chesses, one guy playing the piano, people reading, the seats were old fashioned and bouncy. Mason said it had its own personality. Mum growled us for eating all the sugar cubes. Well not eating them all - we licked most of them and put them back in the bowl after making pyramids with them.
