Cozy little place
Adam Hendricks found out that his internship started earlier than he had planned and he only has one month left around Europe, so we decided to have a quick and productive weekend by traveling to the other side of Austria and hit up the Alps in Innsbruck. With a quick 6 hour afternoon train ride, we found ourselves at the foothills of the Northern Alp region. The views coming into the cities were awesome, with mountains towering up on both our right and left hand side. Although a lot of the low level snow has already melted, the high peaks were still snow capped and spectacular to look at. Once we got off the train, it decided to start raining, which made it a little difficult to figure out where to go next. We had originally planned on camping, but quickly decided otherwise since the weather had taken a dramatic turn. As we were taking a bus up into the hillside to find a vacant hostel, the rain stopped, and the weather was beautiful until sunset. We spent our night eating in a quaint bar down the street from Glockenhaus, our hostel. We decided to walk along the old town

center and call quits early as we wanted to have a full day to hike in the hillsides.
Innsbruck has great sites from all over the city. Once you get up to a good altitude above the city, you can see the river wind through the town, mountains in the background that seem to go on forever, and the ski jump and other Olympic sites (bobsled run) left over from the Winter Olympics awhile back. Once we returned back to our hostel to take a quick rest we met up with three really awesome guys. They were from Los Angeles, Japan, and New Zealand. We really enjoyed each other’s company so much that we ended going out that night and spending the rest of our trip together going into a small village near Innsbruck and catching a Sunday celebration. We enjoyed our short, but packed weekend in Innsbruck.
