Day 3

The drive to Salzburg was amazing! Lush, green and colorful with flowers, forests, farm land, villages and mountains.

But the drive was nothing compared to how beautiful the city of Salzburg is!

We spent the whole day wandering the narrow, cobblestone streets
taking pictures, eating and loving. The walk from the hotel is along the
river which runs through the middle of the city and the view is of many
cathedrals and the Festung Hohensalzburg Castle which sits on top of Mönchs Mountain. It was built in 1077 and is one of the largest medieval
castles in Europe. We took pictures at a couple Sound of Music film
locations (cause it's Marleah's favorite movie!), ate schnitzel and
goulasch, drank beer and wine, saw Mozart's house, meandered through the
Mirabellgarten (garden), ate Turkish food, drank more beer and a scary
man high on crack yelled and spit in John's face! Whoa!

Tomorrow we're going to the top of a German mountain!
