I saw this mural on a wall at the Vista Los Suenos Canopy Tour Company when I went zipping. Hi Everybody!
Today is our last day in Panama. The airport is 15 miles out of town. We decided to move to a resort type hotel in that area since we have a very early flight tomorrow. Our hotel has several pools that are connected and a very tropical atmosphere. We went by the airport to check on our flight. I bought a few craft items there. They are my first purchases in this country. Guatemala and Costa Rica have had more handmade goods than any other country. I am sure that they all have items of this type, but I haven´t always been able to find them.
When we were at the airport, Walt met a soldier serving in the Air Force. He was just coming from Baghdad to meet his family for a cruise. The family is already on the cruise ship, and he had planned to join them in Colon, Honduras. Last night upon arriving, he got out of his taxi at a hotel, paid the driver, got his luggage, and later realized that he had left a pouch with his money, passport, and all identification in the taxi. He had to sleep in the hotel lobby. He

This is a view of the beach in Jaco. The sand was very dark and felt like mud. was trying to contact the American Embassy. He said that everything was closed today because of it being Easter. Walt gave him some money so he could eat, get a taxi, etc. He did have his cell phone with him. Taxi drivers in Panama City are independent contractors. They don´t work for companies.
Girls/women rarely have on shorts in Central America. They usually wear slacks-mostly jeans, capri pants, or dresses. At the Canal, most of the teenage girls had on full length denim skirts made from a pair of blue jeans. A triangular piece of fabric had been sewn in the front and back of the jeans between the legs to make the skirt.
I have finally been able to load some photos. I hope you like them. I checked my numbers today and saw that I have had over 12,000 hits on my blog. That amazes me. If you are considering taking a trip anywhere in the world, you should read some more blogs on this website. You can click on any continent at the top of the page. Then, you can choose any country on that continent and any town or province. There are thousands of blogs that

This child was covered with the dirty sand after playing on the beach. are written on most any destination. Believe me, it is easy to get hooked reading them. I have found the blogs to offer great advice on places to stay, things to do, and good restaurants. Give them a try!
I had an interesting breakfast when we were in David. I had fried fish with the head still on it and fried yeast bread. We were only able to find one restaurant open before leaving on the bus. The waitress did not speak English. Since we were in a hurry, I just pointed to the plate of a nearby policeman. It actually was pretty good. I skipped eating the eyes. It has been a long time since I ate a fish that still contained the bones.
Tomorrow, we are going by plane (YEA!) to Flores, Guatemala. Flores is located on an island very close to Santa Elena. From there, we will find a way to get to the Caribbean coast of Belize.
Take care,
Everette
