So, I think were on our third day in Belmont, Jamaica. Woke up and boiled a pot of fresh Blue Mountain Coffee on our gas stove. Got our morning herbal supplements in order sipped on our coffee and planned our day out. We ended up walking to Bluefields Beach which was suppose to be a little bit up the road, it wasn't. Crystal and I walked about 2-3 miles along this windy road. Cars, motorcycles, buses, taxis, and construction trucks roared down this narrow road way, with us walking along the side. At one point we were walking around a corner and I pulled Crystal back as a HUGE gravel truck blasted and inch from our noses. I looked back to see Crystals eyes as wide as they get and all I could say was the ... read more

Once we got to Belmont we stopped at this local shop to pick up a bread pudding Gertie spoke of on the way. This kind old Jamaican man in front of the shop grabbed us a slice of bread pudding, which would become a part of our daily diet. It was so good, too bad I didn't get the recipe. After the shop Gertie took us down to the beach to meet some of the locals. First person we met was King, he owned a small cook shop on the beach. King provided us with our first Jamaican meal cooked on an open fire. We ate fresh fish(I mean King went and caught the fish for us) drank Red Stripe, and hung out with everyone. That night we also met a smuggler, a very forward local ... read more

Where to start I'm not sure. Grammar sucks, if it's written well that means crystal typed the entry. There we were though flying into Montego Bay, Jamaica. All we had was our packs, a name of a person that was suppose to pick us up, and there cars description. So we had a Red Stripe and waited. Red Stripes in Jamaica taste a whole lot better then back home. Gertie (Lydia Okan), our Rastafarian friend for the next week and the reason our adventure came together, picked us up in her red suzuki. All I knew about her was what I read on facebook and the fact I arranged this meeting. We were off to Belmont, just head south through the mountains to black river then follow the signs to Bluefields. We stayed in a small ... read more

Resort Days! Xmas day began with the sounds of a caroling choir and wonderful buffet breakfast . Santa arrived by boat and we all lined up for the photo op. He even gave out gifts, we each received Sandals brand plates. Since we hadnt yet explored our 2 miles of resort beach, we spent the day wandering the grounds, swimming in various pools and hot tubs, eating and drinking in all the stands and restaurants. At sunset we gathered at the Dutch beach for a photo shoot , sunburnt and beat we ended our excursion there in time for the Xmas caroling at the piazza . After dinner we were treated to a musical act reminiscent of the all girl groups from the past that sang everything from the Motown to Lady Gaga. For the day ... read more

A quick 3 hours flight got us here to paradise. Old school was the name of the game on our AA flight. We had the window and the middle seat but next to us was a man , late 60's I supose dressed in a suit , tie and hat and sat politely in his seat with his overcoat in his lap never removing his hat. On arrival we boarded a bus to our destination Sandals whitehouse. The 1-1 1/2 hour drive quickly turned to 2 . But enroute we passed many houses ,some big, some small and all brightly painted. Some grand, some crumbling , however all one next to another with little difference between rich and poor. After meeting our friends we settled on a seafood dinner at the resort and ended our evening ... read more
