Panajachel Sunset from the resturant at end of the first main street.
Gautemala again so soon. I couldn't help myself. It's a very beautifull place. This was a short trip. Only a week. We had three days in Antigua and four days in Panajachel. Lago de Atitlan was as beautifull as ever. Me et Noel went up the Valcano Pacaya. It was really huffing and puffing this time. It was blowing hot lava rocks out the top. truely amazing to see. The sound as it would let out the big huff was amazing. It truely sounded like a Great Dragon was burping some where's! Where I had walked in July was now covered in lava stone. The lava poured out only a month before and covered the trail. This time it was so hot you could not stand near a hot spot long enough to roast a marshmellow. We also visited a coffee plantation. It was very nice and not far from the village. Lago de Atitlan was so nice. We visited all around the Lake. We stayed in a hotel in Panajachel. Nice little B&B that had a Mayan Sauna that we never tried.
This trip I brought boxes of crayons and easter chocolate to pass out to kids. One box of

Panchancel We stayed at UTZ JAY right off the main street. Very nice and relaxing stay. They have a Mayan Sauna 100Q an hour. Rooms were clean and great charm and TV, internet and breakfast included
crayons went to a little girl selling baskets on the road side. I think she was surprisely shocked that I did not buy any baskets but gave her something. But I think she was happy to recieve the crayons. I returned to Arc de Noe bed et breakfast in Santa Cruz La laguna. I left two boxes of crayons there and other stuff for Easter for the owners to give to the kids. From santa Cruz we walked along the lake side with Neal whom we met on the boat that guided us to a really nice hotel called Casa Del Mondo. it was very nice place. Built on the cliff of the lake side. You can get to it by walking or by boat only. Built by a family from CT. They do not mind if you come and eat and go swimming off thier dock and have a nice time laying in the sun in their hammacks. On the way there I saw a group of school girls and teachers just sitting down resting so there I gave away theBig Bag of Hersey Kisses Chocolates. Again I got surprised looks at what was this? As i walkd away

The Casa Del Mondo. Kinda expensive to stay there but a very nice place. They do not mind tourist stopping by to eat and swim and relaxe off thier property. They do like you to spend 50Q if not a hotel guest or donate 25Q to swim and relaxe. Which goes to chairty..
i hear them calling the candy "Kisses" and laughing. After a nice lunch and Galo Beer and nice swim at the Casa del Mondo we walked to next village and took a little taxi cart to San Pedro. We had a great trip through out. The only bad thing is the boat drivers just love to rip off the tourist in the price of the boat rides. I believe they take real pride and joy in over charging you. There are several prices, one for the ederly, one for the natives and residents and a basic price for tourist. If you go there find out the prices (( ranges from 5Q to 15Q et 25Q ))and stick to those and dont ask the price just have the fare ready, pay when you get off and walk away from boat. We flew in to Gautemala city and had a private driver pick us up which we arranged thru Bon Voyage based in Antigua . It was worth the 35 $ we paid and took a collective bus back to airport.Bon Voyage arranged our hotels and sold us all our excusion tickets. They are all very nice and helpfull people working at

Somewhere's around the lake from Santa Cruz to the next village. I think it's the port of San Marco village. The place is like you died and woke up at Woodstock and time stood still. Lots of Yoga and Meditation and Healing of the Soul places to rest and stay in. Health Wellness Art...
