Our GAP group visited the bustling Sunday market of Chichicastenango.

We said good bye to spectacular Panajachel after a yummy breakfast - which included fresh squeezed orange juice - and loaded up the van at 8 a.m.

Up goes the luggage and in go the people and off we go to Chichicastenango!

Everywhere along the highway there were groups of people ready to sell their wares when cars, vans and buses were stopped by the road construction.

We tried to hold our breath as the buses sent out these fumes

The Chichicastenango Market is apparently best visted on a Sunday -and we were certainly welcomed! Vendors start setting up at dawn.

There were many temptations for us!

There were weavers working here and there -and looms being made.
