Hey everyone, this will be short update because I have limited internet time. Just want to let you know we´re alive and well in Tikal right now. We got here yesterday afternoon after a long, hot shuttle ride from Coban. Seems the further north we move in this country, the hotter it gets. We´re getting more used to feeling sticky and dirty all the time.

This morning we were up at 3 am for the much talked about ¨sunrise tour¨ of the Mayan ruins at Tikal, about an hour from where we are now in Flores. A group of about 10 of us from our hostel, Los Amigos, dragged our tired selves up temple IV at about 5:20 AM, just in time for the sunrise ( wasn´t super spectacular because it was cloudy today). Listening to the sounds of the jungle, and seeing the ruins was pretty cool. Our guide, Cesar, showed us allspice trees, toucans, monkeys and strange racoon-cat animals.

Since my time´s nearly up I´m going to upload some photos. We probably won´t be writing for a couple of days because we´re off to Caye Caulker in Belize tomorrow. Miss you all.
