...1 million dollars to the person who knows why I snapped this photo!!!
...the potato, gravy & egg concoction (simply titled "scrambled eggs") aboard TACA airlines, was the least of our concerns. Long story short - we missed our flight...oh... by just... 24 HOURS! (note to self: remember to double check dates when flying @ midnight). Anyway we saved face by going in the hole ($764.40 to be exact) & getting another flight 30 minutes later. A 5 hour flight, 5 hour lay over in El Salvador and 3 failed attempts @ the 8:40am flight... We arrived safely in guatemala @ 2pm. We found a shuttle right away to get us to Antigua (a 1 hour drive) and shared it with one other person. A big chatty woman who knew absolutely nothing about the country or its culture, and was here adopting an infant girl... blah blah blah.

Anyway - we're exhausted and now heading back to our adorable little guesthouse where we have our own garden and even a dog!!! Blackie!!! A black lab 😊 Tomorrow we are trying to climb Pacaya. Stay tuned!!!

yo man
hey dax... was just there a few years back. take that ferry across lago atitlan. it kinda feels like your going to jurassic park. antigua is cool, kinda touristy but you can take some great pics out there. the shops and pebble stone roads are neat. its funny cus you'll find burger king out there. pollo campero has good fast food chicken, even though you don't eat shitty food, its still really good. the cashews are freakin great man. buy some coffee or go see a coffee bean field. anyway, have a great time out there. jorge

Whew!
When I first read about you missing your flight I thought I was the cause of it. Then I read on to find out that you got the datets wrong. That was huge weight off my shoulders. I hope you guys know that it was not my intention to stand you up. Now on a lighter note, the pictures look great. Looks like a lot of fun. I'm glad you guys have this journal.
