It is always amazing to see these exotic plants that you see in florist shops growing out in the wild in their natural state.

This fiddle head is actually located about 10 feet above our heads! Bob always says it is like walking through the dinosaur feeding grounds.

We found these toilets at the park quite interesting in that the ceiling was covered with solar panels.

On our walk to the supermarket we spotted this “guy” on one of the branches. It definitely was quite large as you can see here. Any entomologist want to help on this one?

Bicycle riding seems to be quite a popular sport here as we passed many groups of people biking.

Nothing like coming to Guadeloupe to eat at the Arizona Cafe. Decor was complete with license plates, Frank Sinatra picture & old pepsi signs.

The Grand Etang Lake is located in one of their national parks which sits at a height of 400 meters (1,312 feet).

Hopefully you can get an idea that this fern is as tall as the surrounding trees in the rainforest. Everything seems to grow in extra-large size here.

Just another one of the giant plants – it definitely makes you feel very small walking here.

The park does a great job of keeping up their trails and making it easy access for the occasional hiker with the installation of these stairs and stone walkways. Even with the moisture, nothing was slippery for walking

We stopped and couldn’t resist taking a photo from this church yard looking out over to Montserrat.

The scenery was beautiful no matter where you stopped and looked while touring around the island

This fancy crab was one of many we saw along the edges of the streams.

The mountain tops are many times covered in mist as this one is starting to disappear now.

The walk to the waterfalls as you can see was through very lush vegetation.

We kept seeing this hummingbird and were happy to capture him on film – not the best but we feel lucky to get him at all! Unfortunately you can’t really see the vibrant iridescent green color.

We were able to walk in to see the 2nd of 3 waterfalls within the park. The other two were not accessible due to high water damage. This falls is 110 meters (360.8 feet) tall and is at an altitude of 711 meters (2,332 feet)
