Hello Again,

We haved arrived back from our quick trip to Cuba. We arrived in Havana and steppedback in time. Walking out the airport reminded us of asian countries with hundreds of people trying to get us into their taxi or to their casa. Our main priority was to get some Cuba Cuc since it is a closed currency and we couldnt get it earlier. That sorted we picked our taxi man and headed to the casa we had booked in old havana. The first thing you notice is all the old cars, and then the smell of car fumes from all the old cars. I was lucky to have Daz point out what type of car and the year for each...I was more like oooh thats a cool colour. We arrived at our casa in a back alley and thought we had landed ourselves in the dodgy part of town. Every house has iron grills on their windows but it turns out that is just the norm and we learnt we were in the safest place on earth. We would eventually walk down these darkened streets with groups of big burly men or teenagers and know we didnt have to worry, wouldnt do that at home down a northbridge alley. Our casa owners were very friendly and spoke good english. We were so glad we left our big packs in Mexico so we could travel light as there were lots and lots of stairs at the casa. We headed to Obispo street which is the main walking street where we learnt food and service is not great in Havana. It is also much easier to buy rum than bottled water. The shops are holes in the wall with owners behind grills and you just ask each one until you find water. We were not loving Havana so we bought a bus ticket to Trinidad and off we eent....just. Luckily Greisey our casa owner woke us up to remind us about the change in daylight saving time or we would have missed our bus. The six hour trip went quick and the bus was pretty comfy. Our new casa had the most amazing views over Trinidad from a large rooftop terrace. We had a private dinner from up there taking hundreds
