We had watched the Golfito ferry arrive at the dock in Puerto Jimenez and decided to check out the ride. We had gone to the ferry landing the day before and seen how the loading went.
There is a ticket salesman at the dock where you buy your ticket to get aboard. The cost of the ticket is $6 per person. We had decided to take the 7:00 a.m. ferry because our experience in the tropics is the earlier the better! Robert had called Luis and he gave us a ride to the ferry landing and one of the workers helped load the bags on board the ferry.
Got on the ferry as soon as possible and sat in the front of the boat. The ride was so incredibly smooth and took only about 30 minutes to get there. Of course, we were told it is not always that smooth but glad it was for us. As a result, we arrived in Puerto Jimenez long before our room was ready but we just took two of the bicycles and headed to breakfast at Soda Johanna.
