I'm sitting here in the hostel in Costa Rica. We finally made it here about 430p. It was a very long bus ride from Panama City. So we caught the bus at midnight using what very little spanish I knew...HAHA! We got to the border about 7a and we had to get off the bus and have our passports stamped that we were exiting Panama and then we WALKED across the border into Costa Rica. That was crazy!! We walked about a block and realized that we really didn't know what we were supposed to do so we had found some ladies that spoke english. They helped us out and showed us the line that we needed to stand in so we could our passports stamped coming into Costa Rica. So, we are looking at this line and are thinking, OMG!! this is going to take forever. There are about 500 people either waiting to get into Costa Rica or they are leaving, either way there are only 2 people doing the stamping, kinda like the DMV!! The other thing with central americans is if they can get ahead of you and served first, they will. There was a lady in front of us that had like 10 passports that people wanted her to get stamped for them. Well, when she finally got to the window of course all these people had to come up and show their faces, so that meant we got pushed further back. A little ridiculus if you ask me but then again we were trying to get into another country. I see now why people don't want to come into the our country legally...LOL😊

We get our passports stamped and then our bus driver takes them and tells us he has to give them to customs and we will get them back when we take our luggage over there. We think this is going to be soon. Next thing we know about 5 other buses pull in front of ours and we are like what the hell is going on?? We sit and we wait...still waiting...about 3 1/2 hours later it is our turn to go through customs...that's right 3 1/2 hours we sat at the border waiting to go through customs. So we grab our bags off the bus and go into this cage like area and there are 3 people that are checking luggage. We stand in a line and then realize that the customs agents are calling people by name because they have our passports!! Very unorganized and chaotic if you ask me. About 20 min later we are back on the bus and headed to San Jose. Now keep in mind that I don't have a watch and through this whole trip I have no idea what time it is or what day it is, so the bus ride that from the border only took about 5 hours seemed to take like a whole other day!

Anyway, we finally made it to San Jose and met up with Michaels friend KIm and we will be heading to Jaco where I will attempt to learn how to surf! Should be very interesting!! Tune in tomorrow for that😊

By the way, still having a wonderful time and loving every min of it!!!
