Hey Folks:
Per my email, here are some pictures of our first 20 days in Costa Rica. Costa Rica is great--to us, it´s like a cheap version of Italy, similar culture and lifestyle, people are out and about every day of the week from the crack of dawn, 6:00 until dark. For those of you that don´t know, the sun is up from 6 am til 6 pm every day of the year. At 5:30 exactly, here comes the rooster crowing, even though we live in the middle of the city (we´re not exactly sure where he lives, but it´s close). The couple upstairs get up and and begin singing opera. We get up too and make coffee in a ¨sock¨, held up by a metal wire (picture below). We mix the coffee in boiling water and strain it through the ¨sock¨. It tastes great, especially if you don´t wash the sock for a few days--the aroma of dirty feet--just kidding.
I don´t have any photos of the street dogs--they are everywhere (like the cats in Italy). Except when the Nicaraguans are in town to pick coffee and somehow the dogs all disappear.
Other photos are of our horse back riding

There was a parade last week -- we´ve been here not even three weeks and there have already been two festivals. The current one lasts 2 weeks. It began with a procession of horses through the streets of downtown San Ramon-- there must have been at least 400 horses and one water buffalo. The streets were a mess after all those horses, but the next morning it had all been cleaned! I was impressed.
We rode up to the Arenal Volcano yesterday, but it was too cloudy so we couldn´t see anything.
That´s all for now.

Homesick
Hola Alex y Davide: Thanks for posting the pictures. They really make me homesick for Costa Rica, but we'll be there soon. It warmed up to 30F today; felt like a heatwave after -30F the other day. Keep posting pictures. Life in San Ramon is grand in its own special way! Ciao.
