After a pleasant 7am boatride from Livingston, we disembarked to the bottom of Belize in Punta Gorda. The moment we stepped out of customs, a guide named Celiano (who I would get to know well over our week here) greeted us and guided us around town to take care of getting food to stock the kitchen we were told we would have, getting Belizean dollars, and a couple of other errands. Presently we found ourselves turning off one of the two paved roads in Punta Gorda, and jostling for 2 1/2 miles down a pitted, puddly dirt road surrounded by lush greenery and spotted with the occasional wooden shack with a thatch hut. tonight i have found my self in the lovely little town of punta gorda, the most southern community in Belize. it was a long trek getting here. An 8-10 hour bus ride, but it was really enjoyable.Tomorrow morning i will be taking a boat from here over the guatemalin boarder.yeha! i think i already mentioned it, but wharev..i'm excited. oh and Wow..kriol is georgous, i love how the people will be speaking perfect english then smoothly transfer into kriol..its not like the stop english then start kriol..they just smoothly integrate it.
