Where does the time go? It's hard to believe that it is already 2015. I must go back and reflect one of the best travel experiences that I have ever had. I must say, 2014 entailed a lot of travel for this girl. On, June 28th, my fiance and I decided to go on a Western Caribbean Cruise with Carnival Cruise Lines. I didn't know what to expect because I had never been on a 7 day cruise. I thought it may be a bit long to be on a cruise ship. The cruise went out of Tampa, Florida and then continued on to Cozumel, Mexico. Once, we got to Cozumel we got off the cruise ship and it was time to explore. I had set up an excursion of the Mayan Ruins in Cozumel, this excursion also entailed going on a tequila tasting tour and then ending a Mexican restaurant in Punta Morena. This excursion was wonderful and one of a kind. The tour guide explained the history behind the ruins and the history of Cozumel. We then continued on to the tequila tasting part of the excursion. I love tequila but this was like no other tequila that I
have ever tasted. It's not to often where you can have straight tequila from Mexico. We also sampled chocolate infused with tequila. After the tasting, we continued on to Punta Morena Beach and Mexican restaurant. We had lunch right on the beach and some of the best margaritas that I have ever had. After lunch, my fiance and I went to walk along this private long, rocky beach with crystal clear blue water. As we were walking along the beach, my fiance decided to throw a curve ball. This is when he got down on one knee and proposed. I wasn't expecting this but of course I said, "YES!" I must say the beginning of this cruise was already off to a great start. Our third day on the Cruise ship we stopped in Belize. The Belize port did not come off very appealing to me but I had set up an excursion to go to Goff's Caye Beach and Snorkeling Tour, Belize City. From the port, you jump on this speed boat which is apart of the excursion which takes you to Goff's Caye which is a very small island about 20 minutes off the coast of Belize. I
must say this was one of the most beautiful islands I have ever seen. Belize is the worlds second largest barrier reef. So of course we snorkeled around the island and we saw the most beautiful tropical fish. On this island, the locals were cooking lunch. This is where I had my first hot dog wrapped in tortilla shell. I must say, I have never had that before. Belize was the most beautiful place we went to on our cruise. It is definitely a must see!
Our next stop was Honduras, when we got there it was raining and the weather wasn't the best. The port in Honduras is spectacular and clean. There are so many shops, bars and restaurants all there on the port. The port is right on a beautiful and well kept beach. Unfortunately, we didn't get to layout much but we still enjoyed the local shops. We got back on the cruise ship early to explore the ship while most travelers were off the boat. We got to enjoy the pool and hot tub.
Lastly, the final stop was at Grand Cayman Islands. It was a beautiful bright sunny day and I just wanted
some beach time. We decided to go to 7 Mile Beach. If you have never been to seven mile beach in Grand Cayman put it on your bucket list. The beaches have white powder sand with crystal clear turquoise water. It really is beautiful. You can walk for miles along the beach. Grand Cayman is really a family friendly and safe island with various amounts of activities. Grand Cayman you can swim with stingrays, take a catamaran cruise, sunset cruise or just lounge on the beach.
I must say this was one of the best trips I have ever been on. I love to see multiple locations on one vacation. Cruises makes seeing multiple locations possible. I would highly recommend traveling on Carnival Cruises, not only did we see wonderful locations but the food and hospitality was amazing. All the workers knew my name on the first day. They definitely focus on making your trip one of a kind. We loved the entertainment. This is my 7th Carnival Cruise that I have been on. I must say this won't be the last!
