After a mere 24 hours, we decided to call it quits on Belize. It was pretty and all, but turns out not nearly as cheap as we were hoping. We took a water taxi to a small island called Caye Caulker which is supposedly the cheapest of all the islands surrounding belize, but after being there for just a short while we realized it was quite out of our budget. We spent 50 US on dinner and i think the beer may have been the straw that broke the
camel´s back. They serve their beer in extra thick bottles that are actually smaller than normal beer bottles to begin with, so you get screwed. And lets be honest, we´ve had enough of that this trip.

From what i gathered Belize has a huge diving scene with abundant coral reefs and sharks and the infamous Blue Hole, which is some sort of sink hole cave system in the ocean. Since none of us know how to dive, nor do we
have the time or inclination to learn, we decided to skidaddle. Truthfully, Max and i agreed our favorite part of Belize was the water taxi that took us out on the turquoise water and past an island whose sole purpose was a golf
course. We then headed to Guatemala where the beer was rumored to be cheaper and on the whole a nicer on the budget.
