Recap on our trip out here:

Was supposed to leave LA at 11 pm, but because of 11 drunken men on the plane, and a crowd of security, a yelling stewardess and pulling the airplane all the way back to the gate from the runway, we ended up leaving more near midnight. It was definitely the most excitement I have seen on a plane. Got to Miami, and slept on the chairs waiting during our 5 hour layover.

Let me let Chet describe the airport in Abaco here: The runway was a little wider than our driveway and all the signs were hand painted...at least there were no typos. As we waited in line for customs the lady had to tell us to "compact the line" so we would not be "standing on the runway." They did have a luggage cart with the trailer and the whole bit. Apparently it was necessary for the 30 foot trip from the plane to "baggage claim." Oh yeah, "baggage claim" was the trailer after it made the arduous 30 foot journey and parked just outside of customs. The customs agents were very suspicious. Below is a transcript our our conversation:

Him - "Do you have any drugs, weapons or anything that might be illegal in your bags?"

Me - "No."

Him - "OK. Thank you sir, have a nice day."

The moral of the story? People in the Bahamas are incapable of lying.

We walked out into the sand parking lot, got in the car and drove off.

Back to Kat: So today was my 28th birthday, and I do have to say it was the perfect day. I slept in late, waking up just in time for my hot stone massage. That was an incredible experience, where I got to talk with one of the locals here. After that, we decided to change and head to the beach (of course) and rent a two person kayak, one blue floatie, and a stand-up paddle board. Chet tried out the stand-up paddle board (did amazing at it for a first time, even caught a few waves!), Susie and I took out the kayak to this island, which was 300 yards away. We paddled out and watched Chet take waves, and met George out at the island. He had "swam" out to us at the island on his

blue floatie, on his back, mind you! We took pictures, but with the waterproof camera, so I can't post them online, we did them old school film way. After we enjoyed our amazing cardio jaunt to the island, we headed back, to lay on the beach and soak up the lovely Bahamian sun and breeze. I found myself a hammock by the water, then Chet tried some skim boarding for fun. Before heading out to play two games of croquet we had smoothies. Smoothies seem to taste best when in the hot sun with sand all over your feet! We had a lovely dinner at Wally's where all the waitresses sang "Happy Birthday", and brought out a coconut cream pie with a candle in it! To end our day, we played a rousing game of pool....
