Made my lunchtime! Great stuff man! You really captured the hustle and bustle of (what I imagine) Sydney to be like. I laughed so much at the part where you got held back at the airport...after all your experiences in them, you and airports must be f*@$ing done professionally, to quote mr. Christian Bale.
Looking forward to a follow up of the pommy diaries ;)
Catch you soon x
Tom, this is brilliant! I had no idea the lizard that attacked you was so large, you played that one down before, didn't you?? And what are the odds of the 'criminal' Tom hunt??! Honestly, it could only happen to you!! Hope your flights home are less eventful. Looking forward to seeing you - Noelle is 'lending' you to me on a timeshare while Greg's away!!! Take care xx
Haha! Sorry, didn't see this comment come in originally! Haha, nooo! You're bringing back painful memories of narrowly avoiding small children as I tumbled down the slope in my skis!
Awesome Hi Tom
The trip sound awesome in the true meaning of the word. You write a great story - any photo's to add to it?
You must have been skiing in one of the very best locations in the world. Hemel's snow dome can't compare!.
Keep having fun
Dad
'All the big ones' haha, my sides hurt. It sounded like a painful trip! And I love the bit 'I have been geting to know my flatmates. Donna.' So many jokes spring to mind that i'd better not say ;)
Sound like it's going to be an adventurous four months!
Cheers for all the comments guys!! I had so much to write after that flight so it's good to see it's been read! Apologies for the bizarre start of a sentence at the end that reads simply 'Donna', I think that was the start of a story but unfortunately I forget now! Anyway hope everyone's good and I'll be writing another blog very soon... Tom
the getting to NZ adventure Hi Tom
Great blog - so funny - which is awful to say as you had such a totally dreadful trip to Dunedin but you certainly make it sound hilarious! Wonder where the Spanish couple ended up! The storm while flying must have been incredible and I could just see you gripping your seat and looking at your laptop out of the corner of your eye willing it to stay safely in the locker. Anyway glad you there now and obviously feeling at home and ready to have a cracking five months. Hope you found some thermals!
Look forward to reading the next post - from Michaels family x
Tom! Glad to hear you got there okay, if a little delayed. Your account of the conversation with the Spanish couple creased me. have an amazing time! When something happens in Hemel I'll send you an email...it might be a while so maybe i'll email before that. Its music on the moor today, the biggest event on hemel's summer calender it seems...xxx
Fright flight Hey Tom. Glad you made it there eventually and are enjoying being back in Dunedin. The flight sounds like a nightmare - and the hookup with your connecting flight at Auckland something pretty stressful. I'm sure that you could write a song about it though!
Looking forward to seeing you on Skype soon.
Brian
Amazing journey! Really enjoyed reading this, Tom - didn't even wait to get the cuppa! Hadn't realised you were sitting on the plane all that time in Hong Kong, thought you were in the transit lounge. Glad your experiences since arriving have proved the journey worthwhile. Looking forward to the next installment! xxx
Scary title! The title of your blog was initially the scariest part of it for me...but, phew, you didn't literally mean ALL your money (I hope)! Amazing adventures, Tom! Look forward to seeing the video soon. Unbelievable coincidence too meeting friends from home.
xxx
Great, death defying blog So that's both you and Jess that have nearly fallen off a mountain road - glad you told Mum later! Well written blog Tom. Glad there were no Killer Bees around - the news reports of them suggest that they might not have smiled at the 'special' Englishman without a shirt. Looking forward to seeing you next month.
Snow - yikes! Enjoyed reading this and glad you had a great time. Bit traumatised by the snow - not so much on your behalf but, will we face this in August, do you think? Bet our road trip won't be half so exciting as yours! xxx
Still jealous :P Hey :D Glad you are still having a great time! I am very jealous of everything you've seen / done / experienced so far. What is a tramp though?? First image I got was of a smelly old alcoholic guy sitting in a cardboard with a few bruises after you'd done him over!! Lol!!
Btw, if you do get the chance to bungee jump - do it! It's awesome!
Windy Ridge etc I know you'll have loved evey minute of that door rattling storm - sounds so exciting! Glad to hear you're eating plenty of the Pommy's favourite meal and enjoying some great hospitality in Whanganui. Great that you're making the most of all the opportunities to explore and enjoy NZ. BTW are there any New Zelanders playing at Wimbledon??? (Maybe carry on keeping a low profile!) xxx
great trip Great photo's Tom - the parachuting looks great as does the rest of the week. I did a 2500 foot static line jump over a grassy field in Kent years ago - not as spectacular as Mt Cook and Tasman. But I remember it all vividly. Can't see the possums in the photos.
