Guestbook I just recently found Guestbook entries on your blog, so now I know where to read answers to my questions. Sounds like all is good with you. I am so happy for you. What are the toilets like? Are they squat type? Have you mastered that technique? I arranged for a nice romantic private dinner, 3 course meal, wine aboard a private boat that will tour thru the canals of Amsterdam, and flowers and chocolates in their room for Onkel Hansi and Sharon's wedding present. I arranged it thru the concierge at their hotel. I think it will be very romantic. They go aboard at 8 pm Amsterdam time, and are driven back to the hotel or to a destination of their choice at 11 pm. Sounds nice right? They obtain the various courses at the finest restaurants in Amsterdam
hey Mom said you moved to stay with the other part of their family? Shawn I think? whats that like are you working full days at the factory? What do you do with your spare time? Hows the weather? Food? Is everyone very friendly do you feel at home? Hows the jet lag treating you? Is the city generally very westernized and industrial? Does it have very wealthy areas to it as well? What stands out to the most compared to the US in your first week there?
Meals Do you eat with the family? How about lunch? Are you at the factory during lunch? Do you bring your lunch with you? Was Subway just like our Subway? Were there any different food choices? Did you see the little girls the little dresses and hats were for? Are they just as cute as could be? You should buy a camera. Are you takings photos with your phone? Are you still feeling so tired? We are enjoying WI, the temp has gotten down to the 80's so much more comfortable. Dad took off Monday also, so I guess I will too. I hope Oma is ok? Nick is there so I feel pretty confident that she is. Have you got any ideas about what I could send for the family. Is there something's that is scarce, and coveted, that I can send. Is there anything you need, that I cans send you?
I do eat with the family, breakfast and dinner. Lunch is packed for me and even brought to the factory for me since the maids come to the factory also to fix the lunch and clean up after. Subway was very similar except more types of indian sauces, no beef. There were a few different indian choices. Ill explain who I lived and live with in a post. I haven't decided if I want to buy a camera, I have been taking alot of pictures and videos with my phone and its just easier because I always have it with me. I am just now getting rid of the jet lag. I would feel tired all day, mostly my eyes would get extremely dry. But then I would wake up at like 8 am and not be tired at all. Again, I think whiskey would be fine. If I think of anything better Ill let you know. I dont think I need anything.
Interesting I think it is so interesting. Can't wait to hear more. What are the family members like? Does Sharon's sister (Babu) and brother (Ravi) live in the same condo building? What are there children like? What do they do with there day? How do you get to the factory each day? Is it walking distance? Do some people stay at the factory? Sleep there?
so you got a bit of a tour it sounds like, but do you know what you're going to do all day every day is there like a plan? just go through each part of the process? are you talking to the lead engineers or who exactly? have you gone out at night? are you taking pictures?
Not quite a plan yet. I am speaking to the engineers, there 4 of them i think. Ill explain more about what the engineers do here in my next post. I went out for the first time last night. We went to a lounge/restaurant for drinks then this outdoor club thing after. It was a really cool structure, it's built into a hill and you go in on top and after you go in, you walk downstairs and your basically outside with a huge slanted roof facing down the hill. Extremely fancy lights, tree's, water falls, and water pond type things going in between tables. There was a dj with lights and all that. Behind the stage was a railing and since it was on a hill, over the railing it looked over a huge valley of trees. Wasn't too many people since it was a sunday night so we just chilled and drank. For how sick the place was it was only about 10 dollars to get in and cheap drinks.
blog Thanks so much for your postings. I don't want to take time away from your experiences in India. I will enjoy reading about your impressions. How has your work experience been? How about food? How are you adapting to the food? Can you think of anything you want me to send you? Or for your hosts? I love you and miss you. Are you taking your meds? I think we forgot to buy bug spray, or did you?
My work experience has been very good and im learning alot. At first they wouldn't even let me try the indian food. They said I have to wait a few days then slowly try more and more. From what i have tryed so far it has been fine with me. If you really want to send something I think a fancy bottle of whiskey is good. They really like it. I am taking my meds. I do have bug spray and they also have a bug repellant creme that is better.
