Hi Deepa,
Boy, time has flown by and you are looking really good and relaxed...I'm sure that's not how you feel in the rickshaw, but hey you are going with the flow and having a great time, that's what matters. We can't wait to see you on Wednesday. Take care - lot of hugs..Nisha PS. I am really going to miss your blogs!!
Tears of Joy! :o) What a wonderful celebration for your family and a beautiful way to end an adventure of a lifetime! Thank you so much for sharing your journey, D :'o) I've enjoyed every posting and pic ... what a marvelous place, filled with such generous people.

Darjeeling The photos of your drive up that winding road took my breath away! You are both very courgeous (and I'm glad you lived to tell the tale!) What a road! Oh my!
I am enjoying this trip with you! Hi Deepa. You forgot to send me the link to your blog so I asked Nisha to forward it to me. Last night I started reading and could not stop. You make it sound so interesting. Sounds like you are getting a glimpse of real India. The pictures are great. I look foward to reading your next blog. I have sent the link to Meera. I am sure she will enjoy reading it and will also learn a lot from your experiences. Love to you both. Usha
10,000 villages ... I loved the way Jayesh kept asking how your spa treatment was!! Sneaky Jayesh!! lol!! :o) Miss you tons! Thank you for the 'perspective' reminder for all we have to be thankful for ... unbelievable living conditions in those pics ...
Kolkata ... I will never complain about the size of Tony's car again!!! (re: the pic of the family of 4 ALL on one motorbike) I love that the cows take full advantage of their "special status" :o) And am amazed at your fortitude through all the 'back country' travelling - way to go! (You are my 'nasty public potty' hero!! lol!!) I'm going to tell Tony that he should greet me with Lemonade and a warm towel in the mornings (let's see how that goes over!! lol!!)
Grand Sarovar Premiere - For Fredrik Hi Fredrik, the hotel in Mumbai is called the Grand Sarovar Premiere - very nice and clean and modern. Best of all, it's very reasonable (especially if converting from US/Canada/Europe). I would highly recommend it and will be staying there again in a couple of weeks. :-)
name of hotel I have too agree that the hotel seems nice! Could you recommend it and in that case please reveal its name! I'm going to mumbai in the end of this year and is in the planning stage :)
Greetings Another very interesting blog and we are loving them -oh my your next blog should be "extra" interesting - trust all went well and you enjoyed it. We're thinking of you both on your journey. Hugs to both Joan

Off to Gujarat! Well, that's it then! You are officially an adventurer! No one gets away with a train ride like that without earning a title :o) Have a wonderful trip to Gujarat. (And I am very afraid of that "Alaram" system ... lol!!)

"Life Lessons" I loved the story of the humble rickshaw driver! God bless him! And I am in love with Manit - those TEETH! Delightful!! :o) The 'matching store' was a rainbow of texture and colour - great pics! wow!
Lovely post today Deepa! Thanks for sharing your experience! I love hearing of the level of humanity which still manages to reside within such an enormous population. It sounds as though you are being treated extraordinarily well! I found the story of the dropped money very moving and it makes me appreciate the relative level of privilege I enjoy! You make me REALLY want to visit India!
Great Hi,
I am enjoying you e-mails......it makes me feel the joy of India again. Anne has been out of the city for a week and will be gone for another week so she has not had an opportunity to enjoy your trip with you.
Love Sam
