This was my third visit to Byron Bay and for good reason. Byron Bay is the type of place you’re able to amble through weeks on end, content with achieving little more than a suntan & a slighter figure thanks to hours spent swimming in the ocean. It’s a great place to look out across the landscape onto the Pacific Ocean, especially at dawn and dusk. You’re often able to see pods of dolphins riding the waves and humpback whales migrating north, breaching on the way as if to recognise your being there at that very moment. 12th August 2011 Pretty perfect arrival, my flight touched down at 6:30am in Brisbane where it was 10 Degrees Celsius and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. An hour later I was fresh from customs and officially free to wander Australia at will. My first port of call was the info desk, where I promptly booked a shuttle bus to Byron Bay for $52. It was due to leave the airport at 9:15 so I had the best part of two hours to entertain myself in. Judging by the blue skies I made a beeline to the bathroom to change into my board shorts before searching the airport café’s for a Schnitzel Orientated Delicacy.
