Hello Ruth and Mark Congratulations on your progress, despite the setbacks. You're doing great and a civilized Kingston summer seems just around the corner for you two. Fair winds.
slow going We have been watching the blog daily to see how far you made it. The weather on the eastern seaboard has been crap for sailing north. We have seen several come into Cape Marine after surviving a squall out on the open ocean. Two of these boats are over 50ft and are unable to do the ICW. It is such a waiting game. We are doing well with our projects and hope to leave the last week of June.
Best of luck, always in our thoughts

Waccamaw well worth the trip Glad you enjoyed the Waccamaw. Meredith certainly did. Sorry to hear you had to cut in to Charleston - so much westing to no good effect. Will you go outside at Norfold and direct to New York or are you heading up the Chesapeake. If the Chesapeake you may burn a lot of fuel as the wind sort of dies over the summer. Whatever you do enjoy the trip.

You guys are brave! We came in at night ONCE in a squall to Solomon's Island. That's enough for at least a year! LOL Good blog. Nice scenery ahead. Take care. CFG
creeping northward HI crew of Melodeon, Where are you guys now? The trip north is plugging along, we went offshore from Fernandina headed to Beaufort NC, ended up in Charleston. Plans dont always work out. Still we are moving in the right direction. Inside I think for now.
Fair Winds to you all

Alligators in the Haulover Canal! Hi Ruth and Mark. Sorry we missed them but not going back to check. Saw one huge manatee only. Wonder how they cohabit? You must be a good piece further by now. We're taking things very slowly and smelling the gardenias. LOL Fair winds.
Howdy from Vero Hi Ruth and Mark. Twas very nice getting a chance to spend some time, since our paths keep crossing. Sorry we didn't squeeze in a dinner or wave you off but later...! Safe journey home. CFG

weather gripes! Hey, rain, wind and waves in warmish temperatures beats the hell out of 10-15° below C! Will pass on your news on Saturday night at the Stillwater potluck...
Enjoy.

hatchet bay Interesting reading. I was there before floyd. We used to have potluck parties at the marina run by madame Bell. It used to be called a safe hurricane hole until every boat but one was wiped out. 200 kn winds and a low with embedded tornadoes sucked the water out of the gap. Then it came back with a vengeance. Some locals looked for grandpa's remains which were unearthed in the cemetery and scattered around. The people survived by taking refuge in the churches. Attempts to revive the marina all failed.
It is still one of my favourite stopovers on the way to Georgetown. It's a place where you can get away from the tourists and actually sit down with the locals. Happy sailing. I'll cross from Lake Worth pretty soon.
from ruth Robert thanks for letting mom and jay on your pc. Let me know if I should add you to the email list. It will give them faster access to what we are doing.
coffeeeeee
Hi Guys ...Someone bought us a Stainless Steel French Press, works great and is also insulated. I find the glass crafts break often and the coffee gets cold really fast. Lovin my new coffee press, Debbie
good to hear they arrived Hey Mark and Ruth: Good to hear Zoe and Maggie are there safe and sound. Thank you for your hospitality. Here's hoping you have a great adventure with them. We are looking forward to hearing all about the goings on on Witchcraft. Checked out your blog and am waiting patiently for the next entries. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you. Heavy rain here today on top of cold and snow. A real yuck day. Good thing there is lots of leftovers in the fridge to keep us occupied. Would not want to venture out in this mess. Wish we were there. Happy sailing to you.

Cheers! Sorry I didn't comment here sooner. Have been following your accounts religiously.Afterall, I might be retracing your path back north. Give me a heads up if you come in to Largo Sound. There ar some depth issues in here. A better option for you is the adjacent Blackwater Sound. Let me know.
