Overwhelming Rome was the most powerful city in the world for centuries, first the Romans then the church. I am sure there are too many wonderful things to see in one visit but I am sure you all will never forget your experience.
The good and the bad JD,
I'm glad you all enjoyed Venice. It was my favorite city in Italy.
Of course the heat and navigation challenges are tough but all the wonderful things far out weigh the struggles.
I am looking forward to revisiting Venice on next year's trip, fabulous.
Enjoy the rest of your trip. It will pass by faster than you think.

Love the pictures! It's great logging in from Tel Aviv to hear about what you guys are dong in Florence. Next year let'a make an international blog and share all of the stories and pictures. Enjoy!
Indeed! Very high class! You may even meet a few leftover Medici in that setting. The location is truly superb. I hope everyone is finding the agenda is full and satisfying.
Randomness! Hmm, Mr. Conard seems a bit sleepy here!
Might I just add this place is incredible! Not only do the Churches, and football games, rock while depicting architectural mastery, but the overall atmosphere is amazing. Everything is put together in a specific manner meant, in my opinion, to add to its particular aesthetic, even if it is a bit off at times (these people are nuts!).
Also, it is an experience unlike any other. Try having Italian pizza at a small family restaurant thinking this is pretty good, then while leaving, and while you are walking by the Duomo, you hear the eruptions of enthusiastic football watchers all around. It was literally like a massive roiling noise of thunder throughout the entire city filling all the plazas. This is how The evening ended for most of the Schreiner students anyway... there was plenty of party going and merriment still occurring!

I remember Scott and Deb,
I remember the walk and the advise others gave when we returned, "take the bus up and enjoy the walk down."
The view is certainly worth the walk. Nice photos, especiall the angel with the Duomo in the background.

I forgot I forgot to mention, that on Thursday, we took a walking tour with the students who are here of the Central Market (the picture of me shopping below is from the Central Market), and the San Lorenzo market and the students bought me a pretty awesome Germany Team Jersey of #7 Schweinstagger. I wore that Jersey to the game last night. I bought a David Villa Spain Jersey that I have worn since coming back from Mass. Okay, sorry for the omission students, I really did appreciate the unexpected gift! ~SMC
Get some rest Dear Schreiner explorers,
I hope you flights were uneventful and you managed a few winks.
I personally liked the flight into Florence beter that the transatlantic flight.
Good luck getting settled into your apartments and then take a deep breath and relax; you're in Florence!
