Wow! Reading your blog is really getting me excited to be there! I am a little worried though. I am 56 yrs old and way more out of shape than you; you look great! I am wondering how that hike will feel on this old body! But I really want to do it! You will have to pass along your packing secrets when you return. I hate being unprepared. Well, have a great day and I am looking forward to reading more!
Jealous & Excited Shelley....Wow, I have read every one of your entries and I am amaze at all you are experiencing. It is so exciting to see and hear about all you are doing. As I said, I will be living vicariously through you. I plan to call you tomorrow morning or at least try anyway because I am hoping that around 5pm your time will be a good time for you.
By the way, everything is still all good with me.
Love you and congratulations on taking this adventure!
I'm so happy for you! I'm glad you made it safely and may not be jet lagged! I can't believe you took your laptop with you, I guess it's good then because at least you keep us posted.
Have fun and enjoy your remaining time there and stay safe!
Hi Hi Nancy, It's great that you will be volunteering with CCS - you will love it. Moshi is great but it does take some getting used to. It only took me a day or so and then I was fine. I did bring my laptop with me and I'm so glad that I did. There is a computer for the house, but always a line. I wish that I had more time for blog updates but they are keeping us very busy. I will definitely be happy to chat with you when I get back and will try to give you all the advice that I can. I borrowed the packing things from my mom but I will ask her where she got them. Thanks for reading! Shelley
Hujambo! I think your students understand more about the Internet than I do! I have more pop ups and Spyware than I can handle! Keep up the awesome work, Shelley. John
How about Cheetoh? I am thinking Cheetoh for your orange lizard....? What a great meal, Shelley....Coke, cheese and Pringles. Sounds like one of my Friday nights....except there might be something in the Coke! :) So, the homemade soccer ball looks awesome. I love the stuff about the Coke signs. What an experience you must having. Chiggers? Ick...Talk to you soon! John
Depressing but real, for sure Hi Shelley. This was quite a way for me to start your blog. I just picked this one at random, but I am going to go back and look at the others tonight, too. The Catholic nun is certainly in a rough spot. My mom used to volunteer at a hospice with AIDS patients, but I cannot imagine how difficult it must be for the medical professionals there. This is the experience of a lifetime for you, I'm sure. I am off to check out your other entries. Best to you....you are in my prayers while you are traveling. John
I'll be there soon! I am really enjoying your blog. My placement with CCs begins March 8, 2008. I am working on my fundraising. It is good to read about the types of things I will be doing there. Where did you get those packing thingies? I'll be sure to leave my sandals at home :) How are you publishing your blog? Did u take a laptop with you? When u return, I would love to correspond and get tips from u. Enjoy your time left!
Best Day Yet Shel, It is awesome to see them sitting at the computer, but even moreso, your excitement! Keep up the good work. I did email back to Frank.
Good job! I came across your blog entries and wanted to congratulate you on the work that you do. More Americans should get out of the comfort of their suburbian lifestyle and explore the globe.
Cheers.
It works! This is amazing ...it brings back my memories of my trip to Calcutta.... a life changing experience ...something you will always remember .... I only wish I would have used TravelBlog!!! Safe travels and continue to journal because I did not and really regret it :-(
Looks like you're doing great! Happy to hear you made it OK with your bags, never a small feat ! I would love to be shopping at those markets with you, looks like some good stuff. Glad you like the twizzlers. Sadie has been practicing balancing things on her head and Tommy wants to know if you have seen any predators yet.......
Vicariously through you! Shel, what an amazing thing you are doing! What?? Three days...and already it seems amazing!!! Thanks for setting up the blog so we can all stay tuned to the Obringer broadcast from Tanzania. I am extremely envious and would love to be there with you. Have fun, stay safe and enjoy everything! We love you!
