end of the line Don't you find ,that as the end of a trip nears,or even the thoughts of such,it poisons the adventure. I find it happens to me, even though I' m probably in an all inclusive, artificial, decadent, monument of capitalistic exploitation. I hate to say it but I usually get through it by living in the moment even savoring the moment with a glass of red. Its always a blast to hear from you sam. Its easier to respond than to initiate my own stories..... but here's one now... Got up this morning perhaps a little late for Vanessa not to be up.. so I went in to wake her ,she was awake but still in bed, I sat with her , hugged her , laughed with her and left her to get up when she wanted. I then went outside to a very cold -3 and slipped into the hot tub as the sun continued to pink the sky. Birds (mostly robins I think) were everywhere and singing, my dog Roxy and one of my two beautiful cats quietly and slowly lurked around the tub. Oh yeh.
Mindy took Zena on a trip yesterday to one of those icons in Manzinillo Mexico . so things are a little bit different. Vanessa and I are immediately closer. Looks like a really warm sunny spring day. I owe, I owe ,so off to work I go. Actually I do enjoy it . Love you Sam . When are you going to be in Canada? Let me know I'll be there with my girls.
this is a sad day!!! Samaya, i was just getting into this.... i hope you are going to keep up with it.... you know as well as me, that we are always travelling... we are travelling the earth, which is travelling in the galaxie, wich is travelling in the cosmos... anyways, i enjoyed your writing... i think you have a talent and a sick sense of humour (wich i always enjoyed!!!), you have an obsession with your hair that often gets you into trouble... but i hope to hear more from you... love azad...
Indian beaurocracy - doncha love it ? Great little snapshots of India, the ragged table companion, the passion of the mosque.
There are horror stories here in Kathmandu about India's visa snafu....guys who went back to meet girlfriends at Delhi airport and could'nt get through, etc. etc., Hope I don't get caught by it in three weeks when I hit the West Nepal/ India border.
Keep up the blogs - they are great.
nice to be part.... .....of such illustrious company and thanks for including me, amigo.
Must dash; in search of a good bar in downtown Kathmandu. If anyone knows one, please leave comment.
Pip, pip !
Salam aleikum! are you turning muslin on us? just joking.... i was in jordan a few years ago.... and i really enjoyed these mosque and the invitation to the prayer.... there is someting reassuring in it.... can't buy the whore spiel though...... love the story with the little boy.... it would make a good short storie.... take care love a.
Love your you-ness. Your weekly scribings are warm, warming and fun because they are.
Just cos you have a following tho, doesn' make you less of a nobhead.
I love you Good Bro
Hello to Samaya and all his friends!
It's true that I narrowly avoided an even more intimate moment with Sam than doing Aum together, because of a somewhat Shakespearean-like drama involving miscommunication, the use of different names for the same person (me), and a third party. It's also true that I'm "shacked up" with my new man in Bristol, who I met on the internet. It's going wonderfully well so far, and I'll be taking him to Osho Leela this coming weekend. He's not a seeker in the sense of being in love with a master, but more in the sense of following his search for truth in his own way. I hope he likes it there, all the same.
I'd love to meet up with any friends who are in the Bristol area. I'm new in town and don't know anyone and my new man is not much of a socialite.
Sam, it's been both touching and entertaining reading you blog and I'm glad you're back with your beloved, and I hope you'll be able to tell me more about birds when we next meet - although who knows when that will be...
love,
Suvarna
Pleased to meet everyone Now that I've met all these friends, it feels like I'm at a party.Hey, I'd like to talk to to that Lalita, you're very mysterious. I remember Setu from my adolesent days, when you visited from Waterloo?? So how you doin? Can you tell that I'm just comming off a 20 year ,(almost monogamous) relationship? I'm pretty sure I know you Azad , or am i getting you confused with Samant the french painter dude ? One day I will visit you Sam. I actually did visit you once in London so there, You moved around too quickly back in the days of snail mail and expensive telephone calls. I'll bet we meet this summer one way or the other.
playful Well.. you could simply say we are a play ful of light and shadow resting in the Absolute. But i guess tis more fun for all of us to see how you see us! x
Kirsty Perhaps I'm too cynical. In fact, the people in Kandy or Colombo don't smile much, and compared to the slack-jawed retarded look I might get from a villager in South India, a smile and hello fro his Sri Lankan equivalent is nice and refreshing.
Happy if I can help you remember how unique and wonderful you really are! Maybe the eventual end of The Scottish winter will help.
Love
Good to see that you share my prejudice against the 'Lonely Penis' - ha ha.
Re. Sri Lanka/Thailand/Buddhism and smiles .. are you differentiating here from Buddhists in northern Asia .. (because I am going to!) I think there is a huge difference between the two doctrines (theravada/mahayana) which informs the culture, or more likely the culture informed the development of the doctrines ..
Anyway I was just thinking about the importance placed on bodhisattvas in Mahayana, how it's much more about helping others than helping yourself, and how that smile in the north is much more curious, welcoming .. not 'closed' ..
Hmm!

lovingly defined Well... i feel throughly defined (you forgot... sometime writer!) !! And you feel free to come by for a mother earth hug (no hanky panky mind) , an acu session or a journey into your ancestral past. Or maybe we could just hang oot. Safe but thrilling travels to you. xxxxxxx
mm lovely, mm the jungle - was always looking for it in Africa. Always liked the jungleness of the ashram vegetation in Poona I. You evoke that longing for the green.green. green. Love
Good to hear from you Great to hear about Sri Lanka - N told me you were going there but I had forgotten until just now. Good that you are coming home soon too - after reading this piece about swimming naked in the rapids etc I wondered whethher things might seem dull in devon by comparison - but I guess you adjust. I will be moving to Bristol at the end of march - so will be a little nearer you and N. It will be good to get together. Off to work now - have a good day and happy birding.
Joanna
Great to hear that the Andamans were wonderful and that all is good with you and N. Enjoy whatever's next .. if it was me it would be Nepal. So much to do!! Cheers xxxxx
