I thought that there were many, many more sightings--not just the 1947 incident. I'd always heard that there were regular gatherings there--maybe planetary alignments or maybe just nutcases. Thanks for covering this, so we don't have to. But maybe it's a funny tale to tell back home.

Very trippy the White Sands, and fabulously interesting the Museum of Space. I love New Mexico--hope you have time for the somewhat nearby Bandelier Park and its ancient native American dwellings and the bizarre Carlsbad Caverns. Brilliant to go before it gets too hot. I enjoyed reading your blog about your trip to various areas of Azerbaijan. I will be staying there for two weeks starting May 10, 2010. I am going with a Dallas Texas Friendship Force Club though I am from Atlanta, Georgia. We will be staying one week with a family in Baku who will be our guides for Baku. The other week we will tour Sheki,Masalli. We may also visit Lahij-Ismayilli. We will gave an interpreter with us since we do not speak The language nor RUSSIAN.
