As part of our program, those studying at the University of Delhi are allotted a paid trip along the so-called “Golden Triangle” route. It covers Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur, yet seeing as we live in Delhi and in fact imprisoned by it, we really only needed to see the latter two cities. So last Friday, accompanied by our wonderful program coordinator, Uncle Viji, all thirty or so of us piled into a big white bus that read TOURIST on the front, and we headed to Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. I really had not experienced this kind of traveling since coming to Delhi, opting instead for cheaper, more inconspicuous, and altogether easier independent travel.
