amazing arrived home in Adelaide to find the email about this blog.. its so hard to believe that time went so quick.... and I look at the beduin food and instantly feel a pain in my gut.. and look at the wadi rum ginga desert and long for my sports bra to keep everything going south.... Such a great time together for all.... good luck in continuing your journey. love shelley the fellow egyptian traveller
Definitely agree, and that's where our conversations with Indians got interesting. We (in the US) make a distinction between religion and national origin, while more than one Indian person said, "No, you can't be a Hindu -- only Indians can be Hindu." Of course that person also said that only Indians can be Sikhs, while the Sikh literature I've received says that anyone can become a Sikh. Who knows -- maybe we're all right.
There is no baptism in Hinduism. If you live and believe you are a hindu, you are a hindu. It is as simple as that. No rules. Yet still if anyone wishes to have some symbolic ritual, then there are priests who would do that. Again, there are no rules. It is more of a culture than a religion.
great commentary... Sandy: Your commentary is better than a guidebook!
Wasn't the owner of Fort Madhogarh dashingly handsome?
What did you and Tom think of Delhi? I think I liked Mumbai
better....
Back in US...it is so quiet! Lois is in Paris walking in the
rain around Marais....lucky dog!
