Hermitage The real hermitage is blue, ahah!! Thanks for the images. I've always wanted to see St Petersburg. You are still traveling up a storm. Good good! But where was the wodka??
Memories Hi Jon, long time no see. Loved the Turkish Blog. Jody and I were there back in the early 2000's. Most likely our favorite trip. We were able to walk the Travertine terraces at Pamukkale, which I heard were no longer accessible. Your comments confirm that rumor. Glad to see you're still a travelin' man. Best
Philip
Hi Cindy,
I didn't paint a pretty picture which is too bad because it is beautiful. Just had bad luck and a cold start to the summer. Bad weather really limits what you can do in Iceland much more than any other place I can remember. And being expensive didn\'t make matters any better.
More inspiring blogs to come from Russia and Turkey...
So cool! :-) Can't say this trip report makes me want to rush out to visit Iceland... although Seattle didn't get that much warmer than 55F this summer either. Seems now you've been everywhere except Antarctica. When's that trip gonna be?
colombia eres genial, popayan ciudad para no olvidar estan geniales las fotos, te felicito mi vida, por ese gran blog...........................colombia pais divino para conocer.
WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE It's a wonderful experience indeed to climb this mountain.Because of its beauty and magnificent nature it's got,I salute you guys you really did manage to reach the so called SAPITWA.
love the red desert, sunsets and the wild life, sound like a good trip. looks like a great way to dry out your body and psyche from the mossy northwest.
how was sand boarding? is it as fast as snowboarding?
Safety in Ecuador I did not think Ecuador was any more or less dangerous than any other place I've visited. Just take the usual precautions with your valuables and personal safety (like not walking around dodgy places late at night or whipping out a guidebook map in the middle of a crowded sidewalk) and you'll be fine.
Great views He Jon,
Great views,
Have to be fit to do this kind of climbing. In 2006 we were in Lhasa on high altitude for the first time. We all experiance the feeling of getting high and had to acclimatize for 2 days.
You find your way very easy without much planning, so it seem. We like to see "Peking Express" with you in it some time.
Fending off dogs in the middle of nowhere, i can imagin what that looks like, haha. Do you have pictures of that action?
We straddle the equator a few days before you did and probably on the same spot. Did you see the museum and view inside Mitad del Mundo?
Later.
Survived another one! Congrats Jon. Your pix are fantastic. Looks awesome! Here in Seattle getting acclimated to the changing winds and weathers of early fall. And preparing for two endurance art works. Safe travels home.
Amazing blog He Worldcruiser,
This is Herman/Christl from the Netherlands.
Wow, what a staggering pictures you have taken this vacation. You surely have a feel for it!
Nice report, a bit short do. I understand you have more info in the future.
Where is the rest of the comments of your other trips. Are they hidden or somewhere else.
I have put some pictures and video of the Galapagos/Costa Rica 2009 on Facebook.
Greetings
Mimi
