your sevilla bridge picture... is so sick. ugh i envy you. anyway, good to see you made it home, hope the plane flights weren't too draining. plans now?
Greetings Paul Regarding your cheeseburger pic, "What is, Pulp Fiction"? What do I win??
Fun stuff Paul and enjoy the rest of your journey.......time is getting short now! See you soon........
Your photos give great perspective It's wonderful for me to be able to view the photos and words of you, Dan and Kam to see the varying perspectives. I love the view you've given us back home, of the towns and Etna with a realistic perspective of their setting.
I'm glad to hear from you, finally, since you and Dan and Kam split off. Enjoy Spain!
history buff You seem so happy in Italy. I love the photo of you in Pompeii. And, I love the photo of the museum with the two encased plaster forms of bodies. Your history lesson is wonderfully articulate. Thank you.
Our mountain? You said, "our" to the bungalow, the beds and the restaurant, so I assume the mountain (or the mountain view) was yours, as well.
Thank you, thank you, for showing us how you live out there.
Rather glad I am glad the tour guide was unable to work the crossbow, which could have led to an accident, kind of like the fireworks that went off in a dangerous direction.
Anyhow, love the photo with the gorgeous dog on the beach. Lucas looks a lot like you, Paul. Does he also look like you in person?
Have any of you boys exchanged addresses with folks you've met (like Lucas, who you sound as if you are getting along well with)? or do your generation only need the name and then you connect on-line, so to speak?
Speaking of dogs and Lucas, my brother and his wife have a dog named Lucas.
I don't read I haven't been reading their blogs, I figure I'll wait til we get home and then do that as part of looking back on the trip. I do look at their pictures occasionally though.
Socializing on the beach I was there with you, Paul, when you were on the beach enjoying the sunset, playing tic-tac-toe with the girls. Sounds like you find satisfaction in your interactions. I do, too. And, I appreciate your bottom-line analysis of your experiences with the varying cultures you meet.
Poignant You keep being poignant. Your descriptions and photos are apt. Thank you for sharing the details of your trip (ie. toilet and sprayer) which gives us a look behind the scenes. I love your photos, and especially the trees. The photographs captured the awesome connection of tree and stone building.
Take me to your (dive) Leader! Wow! Sounds like an incredible adventure. The fish "attack" must have been exci-i-i-i-ting! Your description brought all of the beauty home.
Keep it up.
Dad
More like Chicago ... Tell your FRIEND (saracasm) that the photos remind me of CHICAGO, not San Francisco or New York. And, by the way, Chicago is the best city in the world (FYI).
Love your photos, Paul. Cool fruit bats. Would love to hear a concert in that seemingly great acoustically designed opera house.
So, how did you leave the "messy" hostel room when you left? Help out the next folks by tidying up a bit? Looked like a clean room other than the items strewn around.
Is Dan the one with the blue backpack on the left side of the screen in front of the church?
Kam Estimated arrival is December 10 but tracking shows it has been in brooklyn since december 1st so I don't know what they're waiting for - I'll keep you posted
Great Photos! Thank you for your photographs, Paul. I'm glad you bought a camera. And, I'm thrilled to see you both in the places you are talking so much about. Yay!
That photo you took while "playing" with your camera is so interesting and artsy.
Love.
splash Remember when you were learning to play golf, and you would hit a ball toward the water? I always said, "Enjoy the splash." That hunk of ice must have been something.
Mom and I put up the outside lights today, and missed you wonderfully. The roof stuff will go up later.
Dad
Thanks for the pictures "Teal-colored star constellations," ay? That and "the glowing light makes insects in the cave think there is a way out to the stars and they get caught in the lines" were my favorite pictures.
Love.
The photos of your mind Dearest Paul,
I was excited to open your blog this morning so I could see more pictures from the gorgeous area of Milford Sound. I was disappointed when I first saw there were no photographs. Then I read your blog and saw the pictures. Thank you for your words. Don't stop writing. And, in your experiences, your attention to detail with your naked eye may be heightened because you are now without dependence on the eye of a camera. And, when you are again in a big city, perhaps you will find an inexpensive camera, perhaps refurbished. If not, we will continue to read your wonderful and descriptive words that will create profound images. And, you, too, can read and reread your words and remember your experiences.
Thank you. Karen
