Thank You!
I was planning to head here next month, but was worried about the accommodations. This place has pretty good Trip Advisor reviews, but I take those with a pinch of salt because I'm no backpacker by any means and am fairly squeamish about dirty/uncomfortable accommodations. That video you posted and your comments have made me completely reconsider staying here! I would still like to come for the yoga, though, so do you know if any places nearby are decent enough to stay at without feeling gross/unsafe/fodder for bugs? Thanks again!

Right now I am looking into going to Koh Yao Noi. I live in California, go to a very nice yoga studio for the past 3 years and have traveled extensively throughout the world. I read your blog and even without being there I must say: why in the hell did you even go there when you should of stayed in Phuket in a air conditioned 5 star hotel? If you are looking for a good looking young yoga teacher, a resort and thailand (or rather, any tropical country) without any spiders, rainfall, energy blow-outs, then why did you even leave your hometown? I don\'t mean to get too harsh but as someone who has been to thailand several times, that is what it is, unless you are locked into your posh hotel and beer drinking-getting-wasted tourists in khao san road. I had some friends that went already and I am sorry to hear that your accommodation was messed up but I saw amazing pictures of the island, beautiful white sand beaches and amazing views. How can you even assess a place in one day? I also read the teachers bios and was more than impressed to see that they are practicing for years and would kick ass in comparison with these one year training yoga gym teachers. I truly hope that next time, you can see a different reality and realize that tropical countries are mosquitos, spiders, rain and much more.

Just finally read your comment 5 years later and I still feel 100% the same way. PS girl, in Phuket I was NOT staying in any 5 star resort. It was all non resort guest house in a quiet beach town. I've stayed in 5 star to no stars and this place is still a no go for me. Thanks for your input, you obviously did not read the whole blog to see where I had been the past 4 weeks during that trip.

Haha I just finally read your comment (didn't know about this section in the blog). I hope your other trip was better. Where did you end up going to? I still want to go to a yoga retreat...it's just hard to decide where to go. Thanks for reading my blog. I hope to add more soon.
