Great Adventrure This is Luciano, my mom just figured out the blogs where from you, we have just sat down and read them for an hour. It looks like you had a wonderful trip. It is very interesting reading about another country. We will email again and keep reading. The boys can count all this reading for their summer reading. It all sounds wonderful, a little jealous, hopefully we will get through all the blogs by the time September comes. Thanks for keeping us updated. We will see you in September.
photos??? I'm sure your wedding was great. Wish I could have been there. As for the photos...I haven't taken many since Stephanie left, too busy surfing ;) Stephanie took the memory card home so she could post some since it is so hard to do here with the sssssslllllllooooooooowwwwwwwwww connections. I'll see what I can do! Thanks for your patience.
Where are the pictures I keep logging in to this thing in hopes of viewing some awesome pictures only to find words and more words. I am more visual, give me some pictures.
Our wedding was awesome and Costa Rica is pretty awesome too. Hope to see you when you get back.
Surfer Boy Well hope you are relaxing...although sounds like you are pampering yourself way too much. Having a great time I'm sure. Hope things are all set with your passport now. Are you going to meet up withthe girls before going to Vietnam? Keep us posted and send photos. Safe travels and enjoy.
Lucille
Sounds like you are having alot of fun. I hope you can iron out the wrinkiles easily. Who would think 3 year old money is no good? Can't wait for more. Be safe
Lonley Traveler Sorry Eric I do have to say I hear a little sadness in your words. On the other hand I heard alot of happiness in Steph's (only kidding haven't talked to her yet). Really glad to hear you are having fun miss you bunches been kind of busy the past few weeks getting Mich ready for her first overseas adventure. She has been there since Tuesday morning (22nd) and having a great time. She even climbed a mountain imagine that. Have fun stay safe and HEALTHY. Love Aunty Donna and Nick and of course Mich if she was here.
destination.... well i just bought a ticket to bangkok today. i imagine shortly after arriving i will be heading to vietnam for a week and a half to hang out with my sis. then back to indonesia for some island hopping, orangutan spotting, or komodo dragon hunting!
Fair enough on the Bintangs :) You're absolved. Ahh, well glad I didn't approach the girl I saw then....I would have looked like an idiot and justifiably so. Wow, rough time getting home, eh? She must be beat. I'm not surprised....the airport story reminds me of what happens at Fedex. We can track your package to within a minute of it's life, as it travels ALL around the world....but when you come to our (modestly sized) building to pick it up, we can't find it.
The things that make sense and should work correctly....but don't. WTF?
Well...enjoy your new adventure! Ummm....what is it going to be, anyway?
Suze
another excuse... sticky keyboard and too many Bintangs to care about proofreading.
BTW could've been Steph but probably not. She just got home last night. At least I think it was night there. After American screwed up and left her stranded at JFK for 10 hours! That doesn't happen here in the developing world, why does it always happen at home!?!
What I wouldn't give.... to be surfing right now! Body beating or not, it sure would be better than doing the same old, same old right here!
Glad you've got part of your problems solved Eric....hopefully all will go smoothly and you'll continue on easily.
Y'know....I could have sworn that I just saw Stephanie. Walking in the parking lot of the Christmas Tree shops in Somerville.....black baseball hat and wearing her glasses. I almost shouted out to her, but immediately thought - of course it isn't her - she's in Bali. Duh me.
Then again, it's probably best I didn't shout out - I often embarass myself by greeting people I *think* I know, when in fact, they are total strangers. Hmm. I'll be kicking myself if I was wrong and didn't say hello and welcome back!!
Well, surfer dude (aka lucky boy turned lazy boy ;) - have more fun and keep safe and well. You should be glad that your sister is too busy to come here and give you crap about your spelling...sticky keyboard....sure, sure.
Take care!
Suze
Steph's Ride Hey dad. I know she sent mom an email, just figured she was closer. I don't know if mom can pick her up though since her flight gets in around 4. Maybe you can coordinate with her and help her and us out. Thanks!
S says goodbye Great to read another blog entry. I know this end of the trip must be bittersweet for each of you in your own way. I had thought that perhaps maybe the two of you would end up not returning and teaching somewhere in Indonesia. Perhaps thoughts are in your minds who knows???Steph much enjoyed your writings this summer. Thanks for sharing. I will now have to follow along and wait for Eric's entries. It was great to get both sides from time to time. Safe travels home Steph and Eric safe travels along the rest of your journey.
Best to both of you
Lucille
These past few posts have been particularly intriguing and inviting: volcanoes, bugs, traditional weavers and such, not to mention the beaches... have a safe return, Stephanie, and, Eric, enjoy the rest...look forward to hearing about the next leg of the journey.
Welcome homeward bound... Hi Stephanie.
Safe travels home to you and safe travels onward to Eric. Have much enjoyed your blogs.

Lovely to read.... Thanks so much for this insightful entry. Your words have painted such a wonderful, yet thoughtful picture of what you've been experiencing. Really gives us something to ponder and as you mentioned, yes...to be grateful for. Stephanie, wishing you a safe trip home.....and Eric - well, dude...what's next for you? Looking forward to what's ahead on the itinerary - be safe and be well!
xo,
Suze and Gia
Weaving... Loved reading this part! Although, Eric.....let me understand - you weren't allowed to try the loom based on the belief it would make you sterile....yet you were allowed to hold a sword? Good thing you aren't too clumsy, or that choice could have proved quite unfortunate (ouch). Hopefully you supported the local weaving artisan and bought some beautiful work - I'm envious!
thanks for taking me along! E and S.. thank you for sharing your journey with me. I have so enjoyed reading about your adventures. S, I agree with your mom, you should write a travel book.. you have a way with words:) I was especially moved by your last passage in this blog... "the paradox of the Balinese economy." Isn't that the struggle most travelers face when they open their hearts and minds to a world so different from their own? S have a safe trip back, I can't wait to hear more stores. E, I am looking forward to the next chapter!
The Enigma Hi guys !
These 3 weeks passed so quickly. Steph .. you are an outstanding writer. I will encorage you to do more of it. Your descriptive style takes the reader along for the adventure. It's been great following the journey through your words. I'm sure I speak for all your readers that one feels like they actually been there.
Eric .. enjoy your next 3 weeks of adventure and you too in your inimitable writing style using your words as our eyes and ears, continue to show us the wonderful places you visit.
Lisa comes home Thursday. Her flight arrives at 3:20 PM. If Steph comes in about the same time I'll be happy to drive her home. Let me know if you get this on time.
Ciao
Dad
no fair It isn't fair that everyone is out of contact at the same time. There are people here who are craving more...Hope you are all having fun and getting ready to give us more soon....
Hey guys... Hi Stephanie and Eric. Am enjoying your blogs. These are the days you'll always remember. Sounds like even with the roaches, you're having more fun than I am. I'm at work.... safe travels, keep the reports coming...
Shirley
volcano Glad to hear about your volcano adventure as well as hotel. Cockroaches of all types around wherever you went then. I'm sure Eric knew how to handle all of them right.

well enjoy time left together. stay safe
Lucille
Over so soon Holy cow, it seems like you only just got there and it´s already over? So you didn´t like the pick up rides, eh? Tell me about the snorkelling. What about some pics? What is that lazy boyfriend of yours gonna do next? Thrilling stuff, this travel. I´m off to watch HBO for the night.

Time flies Stephafter reading about your first few days of experiences there I thought you might be ready to head home, now its sounds like you are really enjoying yourself -who can't enjoy beautiful beaches and massages daily! Perhaps Eric has captivated your interest in continuing to accompanying him on his annual summer journeys. If nothing else just being with Mr. Entertainment himself is quite a trip. Eric looking forward to reading your entries after your counterpart returns home.Stay safe and enjoy
