Life is not art. It's a quilt. The front may be pretty, but the back where all the stiching and mending to hold it all together is quite chaotic. Learn to enjoy the design on the front. It was made by the chaos putting it together.
Okay. Life IS art since a quilt IS art. Chalk, thread, whatever - it all creates the person you are. Wrap yourself up with your history and gallop forward!
Jeri - it has been wonderful receiving the occasional bits of feedback from you~ It makes me smile that my words and experiences are breaching out a little bit. I consider myself very lucky to be doing what I am, and hope that in some way it inspires you!
This is a great blog. I am glad you had such a great time. Oh, and the New Englanders ALWAYS say the colors aren't as good as usual. It's part of the tradition so people come back!
Your words are enticing, yet your experiences sell it. I sense a great deal of truth in your statement regarding how I would enjoy the event. It sounds tantalizing. Like a delicious sundae. A really damn good sundae. Phenomenal comment ary. I just hope you took some pictures for the 60-somethings that giggled at the thought.
From what little I've seen about Burning Man, I think there's been major changes in the art on display in that it is very sophisticated now. It looks amazing. I can't believe someone would go through so much trouble to get their piece of giant art out there. Some of it looks like it had to have been constructed on the spot.
I've jumped right into the middle of your blog and just skimming to start, but I already feel like I wish I were doing what you are doing. I surely do envy you. What a blast it must be!
