Do I look human today? Ju--
I wanted to hollar and tell your Division E family misses thier red-headed step child/foreign exchange student.
Also, I had a "do I look human" moment a couple of Fridays ago when I forgot to apply deodorant!!! Yikes! In my defense... I had a wild night playin in a kickball-flip cup tournament... yada yada yada... and I neglected to put on deodorant before work. Needless to say it was SweatFest 2008!

Hey Jules Just checking in to see how your doing. I really miss you but of course I hope your having a wonderful experience. Take good care and let us know how summer days and nights in Amsterdam are faring.
Love Mom
i miss you hey jules, I am still so jealous you are there. have you gone to the heineken factory? I second going to the anne frank house. AMAZING. i hate that you bought a bike, because i hate the bikers...but that's probably because I was a walker. anyhoo, glad you are drinking european beer. isn't it so much better than american beer? man, i miss that stuff. get duvel...great beer. keep kicking butt in soccer. (im keeping this short because i have to be PG on this blog thing). I miss you!
You'll always be a girl Look Julia those guys will always see you as a girl, they are incapable of seeing you differently. My girl, when you look the way you do and got all the moves ,goals will be scored and men will be left standing looking confused.
Well you know how this family is, so I'm off to work a gas well in West Virginia for 30 days. Love you.......Peace!
Go Girl Julia,
Tell those boys they aren't being beat by a woman, they are losing to a girl!
Sounds like a great time!
Have you gone to Ann Frank's house yet? Keith said it's not to be missed!
Have fun!
Aunt Shelly
Bike Life Hey Jules,
Found your latest blog interesting. I bought a bike also, although now I have to move mine to Illinois. I will be leaving New York on August 5. I am eager to move on.
Hey I went to the Berlin Wall yesterday, well the Berlin Wall via NYC. Three huge petitions of the original wall, fantastic grapheetie and all has been imported to a shady park here to Midtown and a friend and I had lunch there on Sunday. New York is still hip.
Anyway enough about me, it so great to hear about your classes and the amazing experience at the Peace Palace.
Big fish stuff for sure. Keep us all posted and remember all of us in your thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Mom
rad GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
hello hello! Well, i'm just catching up on your blog, but you seem to be having a wonderful time! you'd better post your pictures so I can see them! let me know how the course goes...i hope you go out dancing at least a few times and hit the pubs/bars. miss you!!
I HATED THE BIKES Ugh, I am so jealous of you. Stay clear of the bikes though, those people are super serious about their riding. And it's not just in Amsterdam, it's everywhere. No wonder everyone is Europe is so damn skinny. I distinctly remember telling you about the red light district and that drugs are illegal...you silly girl. make sure to buy some clogs, they are fun. have you gone to any of the museums yet? you have to keep yourself busy to prevent being homesick. well, let's see what has been happening in the states. nothing new. you haven't missed anything. in new orleans, there were a couple people shot and someone drove over a gas line and exploded themself....so nothing new here either. as for me, i got a new haircut. anyway, there is your quick update. i love you!
Bike Life Hey Jules,
I all sounds amazing. Its great that you have school friends to share it with. Soccer and all. Why don't you guys get bikes? If you do be careful. It also good that the natives are friendly. How's the food? All is well here in New York except it doesn't look like I will get to go to Drew's wedding. But I will be sending a gift and my love. I have to start my classes on August 18th. I am excited about everything and I don't know if I told you but I did get my assistantship with the Center for Dewey Studies. I quit excited about working there. Take care, please be careful over there. I love you very much. Oh yeah what language do they speak in the Netherlands, anyway, besides English I mean? Let me know.
Much love,
Mom
hi julia!! Hey Julia,
Have FUN!! We are sooo proud of you and now we can have our own trip through Europe through you!!!
Much Love!!Your Cousins of Virtue
HAPPY BIRTHDAY USA Dear Julia, Happy Birthday USA. We missed you during our holiday but it sounds like you are having a wonderful time in Europe. Although it sounds like lots of fun and adventure, I know that the law study will now begin and will be consuming. Work hard, learn alot, and come home safe. Love, Aunt Cindy . . . aka Judge Kent
Trainsurfin I have this strong urge to ride into Amsterdam to see you guys. I feel like I've been away from my NOLA friends for so long, even though it has only been a couple of weeks.
But, I will restrain myself for today. I was invited to this party near the beach where a large number of Dutch locals will congregate, imbibe upon a plethora of alcoholic beverages, and enjoy the rainy weather.
Hey, when you come to The Hague, I found this awesome beach bar to show you. It's quite posh, with little personal fire-tables and dance music. Get excited!
re: Well you made it! Hey Jules,
Great, I'm so glad your there. Write when you can with descriptions of all sorts. Your blogs have been wonderfully informative so far. I can't wait to hear more. Sounds as if they are going to work you a bit though. Have a great trip and remember your homeland on the 4th. Here in New York lots of fireworks and oh yes four manmade waterfalls along the East River. They were conceptualized by a Danish artist! Connections, connections! I will see them by boat (only 5 dollars this weekend, a Fourth of July special). Well love you alot and I can't wait to hear more about your awesome adventure. Sounds as if Germany and dancing was great fun.
Stay a good girl.
All my love,
Mom
yay well I thought I would be the first to comment on this day! The trip sounds awesome! I hope you are taking a million pictures everyday. Capture every moment. The European lifestyle is definitely one to envy! Hope all is well and keep writing!!!
Those Germans I am somewhat surprised by your comment regarding the lack of nudity in Germany (relative to Mardi Gras). I seem to remember that wherever I've traveled to in Europe, it was always the Germans that nude-up. In fact, I will leave you with a short anecdote from my trip to Berlin 8 years ago. While walking from west to east across the city, along the major park (Tiergarten?), I was listening to a CD in my headphones. I cannot recall exactly what drew my gaze into a small grove in the park, but there it found no less that a few hundred naked white men. I believe they were sitting around on blankets and chairs, drinking, and frolicking about.
Forever will that image be burned into my retinas. But the moral of this story is not that I happened upon some secret naked place in the middle of a large park, but rather that I was walking along a busy thoroughfare, with heavy traffic, and in broad daylight.
Hey Jules Hey,
Wow I am so glad you are having a great time. Your trip sounds so eventful and colorful so far and you have so much fun to look forward to. The War Museum will most likely be a high point. Gosh you sound great! Send some pics if you can. I heard you are headed by train to Amsterdam, let us all now your first impressions of you home away from home.
Much love and keep those great blogs coming.
