How delightful! Just tripped over your blog, Nick. I went to school with your Uncle Brad in Burnaby and remember your grandparents well. So lovely to see the whole family - the Kembel brothers, the cabin, the Chicken Farm... And nice to "meet" you too. Kind regards from Melbourne Australia - Valerie Adams
Congratulations on your first book publishing. Your photos are some of the best on this website, and I'm amazed that you've been working as a teacher for three years despite looking very different. I thought it would be hard to find work in Asia as an English teacher for non-generic looking people.
Congratulations! I lived in Taiwan for four months in 2006, so can understand your love for the island, it culture and its people. The photos you have shown here are beautiful so I look forward to collecting a copy of the book from you during my return visit to Taiwan later in the year.
Tea Shop Location A lovely picture! Could you tell me where this teashop is/was located? I'd like to know for my teablog and group. M.T.

Taiwan beaches The only water I have seen like that on Taiwan has been on the offshore islands like Penghu, Green Island, Orchid Island. The best Taiwan mainland beaches are probably Kenting, but still don't look as clear and tropical as this one!
HaHa! At first glance, I thought this was taken in Kyrgyzstan. They have issues with electricity there too. I used to know the electricity was back on, when those wires started to crackle. There were powercuts everyday for several hours.

I've been travel blogging for over a decade (my first TravelBlog post was in 2008!) Since then, I've lived in Taiwan for over 10 years, wrote a book about it, and I manage two successful websites about traveling in Taiwan. I'm living back home in Canada with my wife and kids now, but we still spend part of every year in Taiwan.... full info

Squash not Juice
Very Punk - drinking Orange Squash without mixing with water!
