May you live in interesting times! Your personal account of how the pandemic has affected you and your family was absolutely fascinating. Thanks for sharing.
Nick, it is fantastic seeing you blogging again. We've always enjoyed your adventures. The world has changed and it has been hard not traveling. We are excited for you that your businesses seem to be taking off and the Taiwan work will come back sooner than later. We hope to go to Japan, South Korea and Taiwan in fall of 2023. We may reach out to you or your website for ideas. We hope you keep blogging. MJ
On my list for next time...! Great pictures, as usual, Nick. I know Rajasthan well but only know OF the Bishnois - I've never ventured far into the Thar. I'll make a point of visiting that area on my next visit (currently planned for early-2016).
Meantime, may I swap your interesting tale with mine about the Om Bana shrine (and a glimpse of the Enfield Bullet) - go to my blog "I wanna tell you a story" ([blog=773346]).
The Bishnois I found this a very interesting blog as I've not heard of the Bishnois before. Visiting them would be fascinating not just for their connection with nature, but also to observe the Enfield Bullet at the Om Bana Temple! As usual, your portraits are superb.
Excellent blog! Your photos are beautifully taken, as always, but moreso I really appreciated a lot of your observations re: the photo of the homeless man, the women and their experience selling spices, as well as the delicious sounding (fake?) saffron lassi and masala omelettes.
The beauti of Aleppo Aleppo is the most beautifucity. The people of Aleppo are well cultured, real humanbeing, and good muslim. My suggestion for them is to live together like their own brothers.
Gorgeous photos Love the portrait you took of the daughter - stunning! Sometimes it takes a second shoot to get things just right and I recall doing the same with the Mursi tribe in Ethiopia. Practice makes perfect as they say. I really liked Jaisalmer too, the old fort area was wonderful and apart form touts and being butted by a cow, it was a very relaxing time.

and congrats for winning Air Asia’s inflight magazine award
Air Asia Magazine Some years ago Air Asia contacted me to buy some of my photos for their inflight magazine. I declined. However, had they contacted me and said I'd won a prize, well then how could I possibly have declined? Great marketing and well done!
way interesting! Hello,
I recently got to know some Taiwanese folks who visited Majuro (capital city-island of the Marshall Islands) to teach elem. schoolchildren how to make pieces of art from garbage. I got to know them and now we're Facebook friends. Their visit to Majuro made me wanted to Google Taiwan and learn more about it. This led to this. I like your stories about life and your life in Taiwan. Being an educator myself, teaching is one of the most challenging type of jobs one can have. Anyways, thanks and keep blogging!
thanks for the comment! Dear Terry,
Thanks for the interesting story. I must admit I have heard of the Marshall Islands, but had to google to see where it is! Thanks for tracking down my blog and learning more about Taiwan! If you're interested, I also have lots of photos of Taiwan and my other travels on my website nickkembel.com
and information on my book about Taiwan called "Taiwan in the Eyes of a Foreigner" www.taiwanforeigner.com
Take care!
I've been travel blogging for over a decade (my first TravelBlog post was in 2008!) Since then, I've lived in Taiwan for over 10 years, wrote a book about it, and I manage two successful websites about traveling in Taiwan. I'm living back home in Canada with my wife and kids now, but we still spend part of every year in Taiwan.... full info
