Lens Choice I actually don't have one. I have a telephoto, not sure of exact range, but don't forsee myself having to take closeup pictures from a significant distance.
Extreme planning! I loved reading details of how you plan! I really enjoy the research and planning stages of all our trips too...my planning tool of choice is a spreadsheet, and all final details go into our MS Calendars which we can sync with our phones which we always travel with. Looking forward to reading more of your planning and travel blogs :)
You have taken planning to another dimension... I agree that planning a trip is almost half the fun, and do so for my trips, usually with a planning blog as the first blog in the series about the trip. My son's girlfriend has bought them airline tickets to visit Barcelona for his birthday in mid-September so I will send him the link to this blog. What other cities have you prepared plans for?
Planning on another level Thanks for reading! I was a little intimidated to share since my planning was a little extreme and our plans themselves are quite fast-paced. The other cities we are seeing are Dublin, London, Rome and Paris as well as pitstops in Florence, Venice and Amsterdam.
A person with the innate determination to see/experience everything humanly possible. I have more than once made my family/friends drive hours out of the way to say I have been somewhere. I have visited every state in the continental U.S. except Texas. Will hopefully have all 50 states soon and a bunch of foreign countries too! My husband isn't quite as wander-lusting as me but definitely enjoys being along for the ride (at least he pretends to)! Follow along for all of our crazy adventures! ... full info

I was wondering...
why you excluded a 55-200 mm telephoto lens. I have one, but actually don't use it that much.
