Its been cold , rainy and thats not just in SA Well hello to the both of you, thought it was about time I dropped a line. Looks like you are having an amazing trip and the blog is fun and interesting to read.
Keep on rockin
Running blind I have heard that it is possible to run very fast here with eyes shut because of lack of obstacles. Is this true and has anyone tried it?
Bad!! "we didn't fancy spending much time in this semi-lawless state." Shame you guys didn't spend time in Colombia. You let stereotypes keep you from one of the most fascinating and safe countries in south america. Your loss. Take a look at other people's entries about the country.
Next time do some research and do not let media and fear get in your way.
Have fun in the rest of your trip!!
Dive-tastic Good work on passing your dive qualification, I liked the image I got of a confused Ed messing up his sums!
Happy Birthday to Gemma too.

i agree...oaxaca is not so dangerous as it is just completely shut down right now.

Boring? See if you can drive through Boring, and also try and find Strawberry. Population 5. (it may have changed since we were there).
They're both around there somewhere.
Pikes Market Inetresting one for you now.. Clive Woodwood (and my last company) both employed a management philosophy called FISH after the fish market there where they throw the fish about. Did you see it? It was a load of rubbish but it did mean I could wear jeans at work for 2 years, and a rogue rubber, thrown across the office almost cost someone their eye. Happy Days.
I'm going to Seattle too. Maybe put in a good word with Anders for me!

A Salad?? Ed, you wne to the world's best diner andyou had a houmous sald? A missed opportunity my friend - missed opportunity!
Or please tell me you had it as a starter?? You're killing me here!
When you said - "in their jackets" I had visions of Gem's sweeping the remnants of her plate into her jacket to keep for later - a waterproof doggy bag if you will!
You're right, roundabouts completely fox Americans! That was a pretty funny entry for me to read. Being American, I can attest to the confusion brought on by roundabouts. I must admit I was a little timid driving around one my first time. My town in Missouri got its first roundabout only 4 years ago. It caused mass chaos (and a few accidents) for a good while after its construction. There were even regular announcements over the local radio station telling people how to maneuver the roundabout - and it was only one lane!
hey globetrotters...i've just tuned in after missing almost two weeks worth of blogs - great reads on a Monday! your adventures read well and it certainly seems you're off to a great start. either your trip isn't mapped out going forward or i am inept at figuring out how to view it. i'm curious about your plans over the next few weeks - as you know, i quite enjoy Vegas and might consider hopping a plane. i'll stay closely tuned in to your blogs. Keep safe!
Congratulations - married one month tomorrow! Looking forward to the update on Denali, otherwise there is a BBC tv series this week on bears so we may have to make do with that. Collected even more wedding photographs yesterday from Robert Lawler who hopes to have the best 200 on a web site shortly. Many many fantastic pictures of everyone.
wow! Dear Ed and Gemma,
Have just been catching up with your travels - everything sounds amazing!!! You made me feel really nostalgic about Toronto - must get ourselves back there. I especially like all your exotic animal sightings - wolves, bears and whales all sound very cool! So glad your having the time of your lives. Keep the info coming.
Lots of love, Jess
P.S. Sounds like you were drinking alot of Molsen in Canada which is totally correct but what about Alaska? Whats the beer?
guess the blog am enjoying playing "guess who wrote which blog". see if you can write in the 3rd person as well...as in, "the decision has to be one that's right for Nasser Hussain"

How was the scenery on the boat trip, was it worth the price, and did you feel you might have missed some scenery by going via water and not by land?
