Home prepared food Ross and Natsumi will be coming back to Sydney to attend the wedding and a couple of Ross' friends. And since we've bought various Japanese bowls which we've never really used I think that calls for a request that Natsumi cooks us a Japanese meal while they're here!
Japan and Jetstar We have not been to Japan yet but we will check out Jetstar. Sounds like you got a great deal. How difficult is it driving in Japan? Love to hear more.
Back from Copenhagen Good to hear from you and hoping all's well in you lovely area of Yorkshire. Charlotte and I had fun contacting our Yorkshire rellies after we left you; will email you some details. It was all very interesting. Lots of love. xx
Rich in history I'm always amazed by those who designed and built such buildings in the past. We think we're so clever now but such is obviously not the case.
Hereford Cathedral What beauties Michelle. I've posted some of your pics in TB's "Cathedrals, grand churches, mosques & places of public worship" thread in the Photography Forum. Check 'em out.
York Minster Watched a fasinating programme about the Medieval East Wing floor to ceiling window in York Minster. The biggest survival of Medieval coloured mosaic glass. It has been removed to be cleaned and renivated and should take eight years to complete. I believe they've replaced it with a replica panel.
London We certainly did enjoy our short stay in London which I've visited on a few occasions. Certainly a few less tourists at places like Westminster Abbey would have been a bonus!! I can thoroughly reccommend the Corus Hotel at Lancaster Gate if you're ever looking for a nice hotel which is in a convenient spot and not too expensive.
Still not well enough to go far, and read your blog with great interest. I enjoy travelling vicariously these days, thanks to my friends! Recently read ‘Boy Swallows Universe’ - will be interested to hear your thoughts. Took me some time to get into it, but I think he is a good writer and worth persevering with. Happy travelling, x
Boy Swallows Universe Good to hear from you Jacqueline and glad to be of assistance by travelling!!! I will finish the book; now it's just a case of finding the time. Love to you and Bill. xx
We started travelblogging in 2008 when, with the parenting responsibilities of six children long-gone, we (Michelle & Kevin) left home for a three months adventure during which time we spent some of the kids inheritance! Having always loved traveling, prior to our three months away six weeks has been the longest period we've been overseas and that was mostly with kids in tow. Now officially retired (well sort of) I think we'll be taking up this traveling lark with a vengeance! ... full info
