Excellent Photos Whoever is taking the photos has a great eye and a knack for composition. My only tip would be to use the flash or adjust the white balance on your camera when shooting indoors. The photos of your meals at the restaurant at the Monastery of Fontfroide are yellow because the white balance did not match the available light. But with all that superb food and wine, who cares!
Impressive. I am so impressed with your amazing adventure and how you have captured the highlighs via a blog.."Well Done!!" Enjoy the remaining days of this excursion. This has been giving me some ideas for my travel buddies yearly vacation together.
Hello, how is France or Spain? does it rain on the plain? did you cross the plain with a train in spain? avec un fox ou un box ?SEE YOU IN DECEMBEr :) Louise and helen
School Presentations I'd love for you to do a presentation, with piucs of course, on the historical (and what in Europe ISN'T steeped in history?) elements of your trip.
Fantastic pics. Come home safely.
photos are so beautiful Wow, just read all the blog entries and looked at the photos. I will be honest, I did skip over some of the heavy history parts not being a history buff at all. Seems like quite an adventure!! Can't believe you have been gone almost two months.
Miss you!!

Carcassonne Reminds me of Haut-Koenigsberg, a restored medieval castle we visited in Alsace Lorraine, but Carcassonne is much more impressive because it's an entire town.
Retirement Rose,
You can do this anytime now...sorry to have missed the retirement dinner but we were kind of tied up. Hope you are enjoying yourself.
We're home Dec. 15! Cheers
Hi Hi Guys,
How frigging cool is this! So excited for you! What a great experience! Can't imagine renting a houseboat.
I must say, I'm a little envious.
How long are you away for?
Enjoy!

keep walking Hi Peter and anne,
I'm trying to catch up to you in reading and you are going so fast. Have a great adventure in walking the creation that God has given us.Helen
Hoofin' it Peter, when you said you were doing a walk for part of your trip, I had no idea how fantastic a walk it would be! It sounds (and looks) just incredible and I enjoy reading about the history behind it. It sounds like a great trip for anyone to put on their list.
"A man outstanding in his field" ... very funny! I love the sunset pics at the end (592, 593, and 'sunset same day')... Gorgeous! The cathedrals are also lovely, as are the views. The Basque festival looked really interesting too.
I'm sure there is no shortage of interesting things to see. But seriously ... peppers, logging, haying ... I could show you that here! Any snow? I could also show you some snow today.
Looking forward to following you on the rest of your journey!
Candice
Two thumbs up! Congratulations on walking a very, very long ways, 175 kilometers may not seem like a long walk next to 1500km but personally 175 is a lot farther than I would ever walk! I hope you continue to enjoy yourselves.
Love, Dever
Anne and Peter are heading to the France and Spain. We are about to walk part of the Camino de Santiago in Spain and then laze around the South of France for a while. There may be a side trip to Scotland and the north of France to visit family and friends.... full info
